I really need a treatment akin to the SMT. I have no honey though.

I have coconut oil, conditioners, evoo, and some other household products.

does anyone have an ideas?

Do you have corn syrup, molasses, or maple syrup? They can take the place of honey in most things. Molasses may or may not darken hair slightly (and temporarily, I believe).

You could always just mix some of your conditioner with a little bit of whatever oil your hair likes - coconut or evoo.

When I'm too lazy to mix up the honey and aloe vera gel, heat, etc. - I just pour conditioner into my hand and add some evoo to it and put that in my hair. lol But start small - only use a little bit of oil if you don't know whether or not your hair gets weighed down by oil easily. Mine doesn't so I can put a lot, but still only use about 1/2 tsp. of oil to a handful of conditioner.

Happy conditioning. :flower:

I use molasses in my SMT's since I don't want the lightening effects of honey (I color my hair darker than it's natural color) and I've found I actully like the molasses better!

I use corn syrup, because it's cheap and I don't have to fuss with heating the honey to prevent lightening.

Yup, it's a humectant, just like honey.:)
