Yeah, the Disney princesses all tend to have long hair! Have there been any princesses with short hair? i love long hair, but i'd love to see them break tradition and send a message to little girls that you are what's important, not your hair, and that any style you desire can be beautiful and prince-worthy! :)

I agree. It's the same with the other disney films like Hanna Montana and the cheetah girls and all of them. Allways longhaired gals.

I used to drool after the little mermaid hair when I was little :) Ariel has at least HL if I remember correctly.

You forget Snow White! :) She had that cutesy 30s bob with a red headband. That's the one look I'm missing with my new length! I guess I just need to master the fake bob.

I'm like Tinti. I was in love with The Little Mermaid. It's probably why I love red hair. Other favorites were Belle and Jasmine. But no one had hair like this Rapunzel!

Hmm...What about Anastasia(or Anya)? She has really cute hair(Towards the beginning of the movie, when she just leaves the orphanage) that I wouldn't called long. It's a cute color too!! I don't know if it's a disney movie...but she is a princess!

OK I know she's not Disney exactly, but Odette (The Swan Princess) was always my animated hair idol as a child!!! ...and still is I guess if you can't tell :o
Her hair was just so long and voluminous! :crush:

Ariel. I'm not much for Disney, but that hair really is something. I actually haven't seen The Little Mermaid ever movie since I was a little kid, but now I'm suddenly craving it. Huh.

Yeah, Anastasia isn't Disney, it's Don Bluth. :o Her hair in that movie is ALL OVER THE PLACE, sometimes SL and sometimes WL and sometimes in the middle. Especially during the boat dance.

My favorite animated Disney movie (as far as long hair is concerned) was Aladdin. Jasmine's hair was not only long but thick and always styled in that huge pony tail.

Oh yeah, Pocahontas! Me and my best friend would often comment on how ridiculously silky her hair was. Her hair was her defining feature indeed.

Sleeping Beauty for me. Gorgeous blonde waves.

I remember being confused as a child as to how Pocahontas' hair was always moving around in the wind, but never managed to get tangled! My hair tangles if you LOOK at it the wrong way....

When I was a child I wanted Sleeping Beauty's hair so bad I couldn't even stand it. :D

Nowadays, I still love her hair so much, but I'm also a huge fan of Ariel's, Esmeralda's, and Giselle's hairs as well. :) I tend to like the thick, long, wavy-looking heads of hair the best.

Ariel and Princess Jasmine. But Tangled looks pretty good!

To be honest, the first thing that came to my mind was The Road to El Dorado (pin-straight classic length black hair) - but I don't think that was made by Disney!

Pocahontas! I did go through a horrible bleaching incident that turned my hair an animated yellow (totally self inflicted:o) and my lovely 3-year old daughter told me my hair looked like disney princess hair....that was all it took for me to know I had a problem! Children are so honest and sweet!

Honestly, it was Mulan (even though it overly Disney-fied a Chinese classic I had grown up loving), because I loved that scene where she sacrifices her hair and femininity to take her father's place in the army.

Well I have to admit that I was always jealous of Jasmine's long thick hair as a child, although Beauty and the Beast was always my favorite, because book-loving trumped hair in my world :)

This movie makes me groan though, because even though it looks cute and I'll probably go see it, I just know that for 2 months after it comes out, all my friends/family will be teasing me about it. "You know that one scene, with the thing and the guy in that one place, can you do that with your hair? Have you ever tried? Can you do this with your hair?" etc. etc. I'll be answering the same questions over and over as long as it's out.

Definitely Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I'm a complete bookworm and of all the Disney "Princesses", Belle is the closest to my heart!

I'm actually really excited about the new "Tangled" movie...my 3-year old wants to go her hair out just like Rapunzel. My favorite long-hair gals would be Jasmine, Belle and Enchanted. :D

I am not sure that I can say I have a favorite Disney hair princess, except maybe Jasmine... Though if we are encompassing all animated things, I would have to throw in a vote for Belldandy (http://anime-wallpapers.com/images/800x600/dreamy-belldandy.jpg)from Oh My Goddess! even though I think her hair is still "too short" in terms of my goal. :)

Belle and Ariel were my favorite princesses growing up, but two scenes stick out to me:

- In Aladdin when Jasmine has her hair pulled forward over her shoulder and is brushing it
- and in The Little Mermaid when Ariel pulls herself up onto the rock and throws all that beautiful red hair back with the sun behind her.

Those were the scenes I always tried to reenact as a little girl, although it's hard to toss wet, thigh-length hair straight back when you're 3 and a half feet tall.

I used to love Ariel's hair, too. And from a non-disney movie... How about princess fiona from Shrek? And from Sailor Moon, I loved Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Mercury, Sailor... Well, all of their hair, including Serena/Sailor Moon's hair.

I blame Disney. They gave me unrealistic expectations about hair.

Seriously though, I have wanted long thick red hair since seeing the little mermaid as a kid. So long! So bright! So lovely!

I also really loved Sleeping Beauty's hair, and Alice. I think Alice's hair is so pretty, and also vaguely attainable. Maybe. Please.

Mulan's hair was my favorite. I always wished to have silky straight hair and I guess I'm biased since Mulan was my favorite disney movie too!

My absolute favorite was Ariel's amazing red hair. I loved it so much that for YEARS I wanted bright firetruck red hair. She is also the original reason I wanted long hair!

I don't even like the color pink, but I've always thought the redheads-can't-wear-pink thing was ridiculous. It's hair, not a pair of shoes you're going to clash with.

My first Disney hair favorite was Cinderella. That scene where she lets her hair down when she wakes up is so nice. Then Ariel came along and of course I bonded with her because she's a redhead. Also, I love the scene where all of her sisters are introduced in Sebastian's show near the beginning, simply because of the various hairstyles they have.

I love Ariel’s hair! I look like her and used to have hair just like her but I’ve had a lot of problems with breakage and weakness after I had my son a few years ago… I decided to cut it back in Sep 2013 and really miss having long hair.

My favorite Disney heroine will always be Snow White, she's the cutest little flapper ever. Yes, she does have a bob--she's still gorgeous. I don't think the more recent ones match up to her--but that's just me.

I've always liked Esméralda from The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. I don't remember how long her hair is, but she definitely has volume and she's my favorite.

I just watched Aladdin with my sister. The first thing I thought when I saw Jasmine was: What pretty long hair. :)

My long hair idol is Rapunzel. Her hair is wonderful! It is long, blond and shiny! I enjoyed this Disney movie several times. When I was watching it in high quality on https://loadtv.info/ltv/films/, I decided to grow my hair out. It's a pity that it is impossible to have the same long hair in real life.

When I was growing up, I think my first animated crush was the Swan Princess.

How about Moana? Not my idol, but her hair is AMAZING. She's just amazing, in general, definitely one of the more determined princesses.

I was so sad when I saw the end of Rapunzel. The cut is cute (as if you could get something that nice with a shard of glass), but it made me sad when her hair went from that lovely blonde to brown, especially cause you know her hair won't grow back. Not that brown isn't pretty, but I'm a sucker for a blonde hair/green eyes combo, and her braid was darling with all those flowers.
