I was at Sam's club the other day and found a packaged set of 20 oz bottles of this for $22! I was quite excited and bought one, even tho I'm not fond of the shampoo or conditioner, I *love* the Silk Therapy!

I just thought I'd let ppl know, in case anyone else likes this as well. I'm not sure how Sam's works, if they have the same thing at every store or not, but I'm in mid-Michigan.

I bought the HYDRATING S&C and was a very disappointed; perhaps it is not for those with curls....or my hair is too fine with lots of new growth? :hmm:

The shampoo left my hair feeling a bit 'squeaky' and conditioner did not have the slip I expected at all, in fact I encountered a few tangles which I NEVER get!

I applied the serum (lite) to damp hair and then did a quick warm diffuse blow dry of my scalp and let the rest air dry......and OMG....it's like my hair EXPLODED :agape:

EVERY SINGLE NEW STRAND FROM CROWN TO HEMLINE CURLED = MAJOR POOF/FRIZZ  so much for SLEEK :p

It's almost like the S&C were clarifying; I got so much LIFT to each strand it was crazy (can't use diffuser with all the new growth either)!

When it was fully dry I applied more serum, and that helped a lot; I probably could have even used more because it is not greasy like oil at all!

I had expected sleekness with my wavy Winter hair and defined curl for Summer, but there is just not enough moisture in these products for my hair.

An order was pending on Amazon for 33oz bottles of S&C which I RAN to cancel lol

But I did order more serum; that I know I will like for any season.
Amazon has a good price for the serum @ $9.99 for the 5.64 oz bottle; in my grocery store they want $20!!!!
I got 4 bottles and free shipping...so I will be all set for a while!

Glad I am not alone; I expected it to be the MIRACLE product.... and it sucks big time on my hair :p lol

But the Biosilk Lite Serum is AMAZING
It tamed today's biosilk shampoo disaster (poofy frizz)...and on DRY hair too :thud:
So it should work great this Summer

I am so happy that I found a great price on it.... and bought 4 bottles :joy:

Does the serum contain silicones? Is it slippery? How do you think it'll perform for curly hair?

Does the serum contain silicones? Is it slippery? How do you think it'll perform for curly hair?

For me, it had little to no slip and after the shampoo it almost felt squeaky clean.
Even after the conditioner, I had a few tangles, and I NEVER TANGLE.
When dry it was one big frizz ball.
It seems it was too light and not hydrating enough for my fine silver.
I had plenty of lift and each strand curled ...out of control :p
I had to keep applying the Biosilk lite serum to tame it down.
And I bought it thinking it would DEFINE my curls in the Summer....and sleek my wurls in the Winter:doh:

Ingredients are Greek to me....maybe you (or someone) can figure it out?

GG, it looks to me that the reason your hair has so much "lift" is because of the sulfates in the shampoo and the very light ingredients in the conditioner doesn't seem enough to moisturize very well.

BIOSILK was night and day from my beloved Joico, and I expected so much MORE from it; boy was I disappointed!
I am still 'fluffy' today and will apply more serum; that never happens even when I use Joico Clarifying.
So it's not just me

Looks like this stuff will be slowly mixed in with my clarifying S&C; thankfully they are in small bottles :p

Thanks

4 days latter and my hair is still on the dry side....unless I do twice daily serum applications

I am now seriously considering using the S&C for body soap and shave cream :rollin:

Hi, I'm a new member and I already mentioned about dry ends in my long bob. Thinking about doing a trim to start with a superfresh hemline, but I also want to do a no trim 2019. to reach my goal (APL) Today, I have bought Biosilk to make my hair really smooth, haven't used it yet but I will tomorrow as it is wash day. Most reviews on the internet are positive, anyone here also using Biosilk? What are your experiences with this product?

I love biosilk and wish it was available here in Germany. It always makes my hair soft and strong. My mom has always used it and her hair is almost classic length now.

I've heard Biosilk is great! It's definitely on my list to try. :D They also make Chi products (like Chi Silk Infusion) which are my favorite!

Yes, they are supposed to be quite similar. Both silicone serums.

You can use a natural oil or baby oil in your hair instead of a silicone serum as well. All you need is a couple drops (not a lot!!!), spread it through your palms and apply to wet hair after the wash.

I emailed the company about this after I found out they changed the CHI silk infusion (which I have used for 12 years now) formula a couple years ago and they recommended me the Biosilk original so I hope to try it next. But that might be awhile...it usually takes me 5 years to go through a CHI bottle ;).

I have one still unopened. :o

I am getting through my Aldi (Kyrell) serums right now - and they are argan oil based and amazing, they were I believe 3.99 for a 100ml bottle; when they were discounted because no-one seemed to buy it, I bought a *lot* for 2, later 1 euro a piece.

I  Biosilk serum!

The LITE works best on my fine wispy silver......on slightly damp (almost dry hair) .....pre/post braiding......or just a couple drops smoothed over flyaways.

For general use start with a few drops rubbed between your hands, the apply from the ears down.
If my crown needs 'smoothing' I wait until it is 99% off my hands then I run them over the crown like I am finger combing it.

I get the 3 bottle pack when available on Amazon and sometimes add a fragrant oil to switch it up.

Hope you like it :cheer:

Biosilk is quite good, but in my particular case, it wasn't as good as a mix of coconut oil and vitamin e. It worked wonders for my sister, tho, who has longer and finer hair than i do. It all depends on what your hair needs, i guess, but overall, i'd say Biosilk is one of the best products regardless of hair thickness and length.

I used it yesterday on almost dry but damp hair and went to bed. I woke up with the softest waves imaginable, never experienced anything like this. I have tried a lot of organic, drugstore brand, high end products for my hair but nothing left my hair so fluffy, soft and full of waves. I can't upload any photos yet because I'm new. I hope I wont get build up from this product.

Glad you liked it; that's my experience too.....though I can't help re: possible buildup.
I use a sulfate shampoo weekly and I clarify quarterly ...so there is no buildup for me ;)

Yay! Coney serums are really nice and they give you soft, smooth hair. :D if you're worried about buildup, a clarifying shampoo every so often will remove all of that, allowing you to continue enjoying your products :)

Biosilk is one of my holy grail products. So far I've tried the regular, and the coconut one; I like both, but I'm leaning towards the coconut one, as long as I remember to compensate by using less oil. I do detangler --> biosilk --> oil. It's made my hair softer, more manageable, and when I do braid waves, it really defines them more nicely. It also cuts down on frizz by *a lot*.

I had a half bottle of the regular, so I got my mother-in-law to try it out, and she's now a convert xD I gave her the rest of it to play with.

Has anyone tried Biosilk Lite for fine hair?

ETA: Oops! Somehow I missed Groovy Granny's post about the Lite product.

LOL ...yup ... I still love it!

I am expecting the BIOSILK Therapy Trio Value Pack, 7 Ounce (shampoo/conditioner/regular serum) in the mail any day now :mail:

Having loved the LITE so much I figured I'd try the other products, even though they are cone and sulfate free (which My hair loves).

So we'll see; I will try it out the next wash in a few days :eye: and will use the regular serum as a leave in.

ETA: I love it :crush:

It has an 'herbal/grassy' fragrance to it that took me by surprise as I was expecting 'floral'.
I wasn't sure if I liked at at first but as my shower went along I liked it more and more.
The regular serum has a 'chemical' smell, so I added my 'bamboo' fragrant oil that I use daily for aroma therapy

The shampoo isn't too sudsy but it didn't leave my hair feeling stripped.
The conditioner I left on as I shaved and showered and it had a nice slip/was easy to detangle.
The serum I used a teensy amount on each side of my hair when parted in the middle and brought to the front.

After air drying on a hellishly hot and humid day I was left with pretty wurls and curl and no frizz :joy:
Amazing since my other 'moisturizing' products have left me with the need to use ROO

I am curious to see how this set works in dry air when I am sleek, But I am very happy and in the Summer these could become my 'holy grail' products

ETA July 30: I am turning into a 'product junkie' :rollin: as my attention has turned from hair toys to pampering products.
:eyebrows:
This time I decided to try BioSilk Silk Therapy, 17 Miracle Leave -In Conditioner (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KWT8JZC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). :mail:

Tonight I tried the BioSilk Silk Therapy, 17 Miracle Leave -In Conditioner and I love it!

To clarify....I actually used it after I clarified with Neutrogena, did the mask, and then used the 17 Miracle on damp hair.

TBH it is nothing like a conditioner aside from it looking and feeling a bit creamier and it SPRAYS; not in a mist but more like a stream... but it left pea sized amounts with each squirt.
SO I did 3 squirts .....rubbed my hands together and applied it to 1/2 my hair, the repeated it on the other side.
The directions say to SPRAY it directly on your hair, but it is impossible for even application.

After I dried my hair it seemed a bit wild (seeing I had just clarified) but it was soft....so I reapplied it as above ...crunched = soft/sleek waves

This product has the same 'botanical' fragrance as the shampoo and conditioner (unlike the more chemical smell of the serums which I add EOs to).
Initially it took me by surprise as I said about the other products, but it is very mild and pleasant and I have come to love it.

So time will tell how often/when I use this as compared to the serums which I use twice daily normally

On a funnier note...initially when I did a search for Biosilk , this thread came up....but tonight with a quick search to find it this 2017 thread (https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=51576) came up....and to my utter shock I saw that had I tried it back then and HATED IT 2 years ago

I don't even recall trying it :p :rolling:...ahhh senior moments
Well my opinion has changed for whatever reason and I love it :D

Update:
Today I had some unruly wispies and a bit of frizz on the ends when I took down my sleep braids, so I got the idea to try 17 Miracle on my dry hair....and it was AMAZING :cheer:
It doesn't have the oily feel the serum can and absorbs quickly into your hair = a fix and go product.

I applied some to the ends....3 squirts rubbed in my palms then smoothed it over my hair between my palms from the ears down.
I bunned it to dress and do chores, and found sleek bun waves when I took it down

Also, last night I remembered I had not tried the serum on my body as they also suggest you do, and tried it after my shower on damp skin and then again on dry skin this morning. Just a little goes on easily, absorbs well, and doesn't remain oily on your hands like the serum can (I must take my time to work it all in).

Bottom line for me....I think that rather than using 17 Miracle after clarifying, I may use it more often for touch ups (frizz/waves etc) and use the serums on damp hair or sleep braids as it absorbs slower.
And I will definitely be using the serum after bathing, especially in the Summer because it is nice and light.

Biosilk may be my 'go to product brand' as it is multi-purpose for skin and hair, and a little goes a long way; great for people who travel!

My serums have lasted a long time with twice daily use on my hair so far, so they are definitely worth the price ,which isn't expensive on Amazon....whereas local store are outrageously priced :thud:

I still cannot recall why I disliked this brand 2 years ago :hmm because Biosilk was a great find for me this time :joy:

Since my last post I bought the

Biosilk SILK THERAPY with ORGANIC COCONUT OIL 3- in-1 Shampoo, conditioner and Body Wash (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077Y3K37T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which will be for additional/quick showers....and I have the TRIO (shampoo/conditioner/leave in). It smells amazing, but hich I have not tried them yet :crush:

I also got Biosilk Silk Therapy Conditioning Balm (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CUL7Y1O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which I tried today and love it...in fact I made it a BIOSILK SPA Day :flower:

First I did the Biosilk Therapy Shampoo...rinsed then applied the balm and let it sit while I shaved and showered (using the Original Serum as a shave oil, and moisturizer).

After my hair was in a turban for 10 minutes I applied 2 pea sized dabs of the balm (1 for each side of my head/ears down).

I Warm/cool blow dried my scalp then applied 2 dabs of the 17 Miracle Conditioner to my ends which were air dried by then, did a cinnamon bun for 30 minutes = lovely soft, silky, bun waves

It it lovely to have the same fresh, botanical, fragrance from all the products, feeling moisturized from head to toe, and it is now my 'go to' product line (along with the Neutrogena Triple Moisture line) :cheer:

The cost is reasonable, you get head to toe treatment, and the products last a long time because just a very little is needed

I was so frustrated by cobweb hair yesterday I ALMOST dug out my :scissors: :nono:

Finally realizing the air is changing but by hair product routine wasn't changed, I decided to start with the LITE serum I use before night braiding.

Usually 1 squirt is applied to both sides of parted hair, worked in and then braided; in the morning I may apply a bit to my ends after removing the braids, and then bun my hair while I get ready.

Last night I doubled the amount per side with the LITE serum and then once braided I smoothed the heavier original serum over the braid and focused on the ends = success :joy:

This morning I just threw it into a bun to dress and when styled added a wee bit of the 17 miracle conditioner to the ends = lovely wurls with no fluff.

Because my hair is so fine/wispy I am always afraid of using too much product and getting greasy weighed down hair, but this product is AMAZING :bowtome: Biosilk

ETA: I did cut back from TBL to HIP; my wispiness is just too much too handle past Hip
With the serums and trim my hemline is great now

ETA: I finally tried the COCONUT shampoo/conditioner/leave in = AWESOME :crush:
