Which is easier to grow out bangs or face framing layers? And how do you get a few face framing strands without them ruining the rest of your hair?

Well if the hairdresser drags and 'razors' the hair near the face, that usually works. Its not really layers, more like, shorter near the face, longer at the back. Also, these are much easier to grow out than bangs, because it's graduated, rather than shorter and blunter.

Face framing layers, absolutely! Especially because you can blend them in your updos using 2 bobby pins. Besides, many people who don't want bangs for various reasons (sport, face shape, oily skin) do perfectly fine with layers.
That's how I did mine: I parted my hair vertically around my face, so that if would be easier to pull the longer hair in a pony or updo if I wanted to, then I cut holding the scissors diagonally.

Thanks ladies. I'm all one length now and my updos are just BORING. I think I could cut a few face framers myself too, which I hadn't considered. :)
