wrapped pony.
I got some complements on this one today.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d112/elainehali/05-12-08_1945.jpg

I made it by making a pony tail and wraped hair around the elastic. Then I put another elastic a few inches down and wrap hair around it again. Then to get the slight puffy effect I tugged the hair out a little bit to create the bump.

Anyways, it's really simple, and probabaly looks awesome on super long hair.

Lovely! It seems so... Tomb Raider? Either way, it's beautiful, and I wish my hair were so long!

Oh wow, I love it! It looks great, and I can't wait to hear more details about how you wrap it so that it stays in place.
Thanks for sharing. :)

Ooops forgot that detail

I use the "hair loop" (basically a topsy tail) Which is a plastic loop with a pointed part to pull the small lock through the pony after it's been wraped around the elastic.

You can buy hair loops at claires. $3.00 where I am.

That's a good idea! I was thinking it'd start looking weird after a while since the hair was used to wrap the hair tie. Then the ponytail would get thinner and thinner. What you did is a much better idea than what I had in mind!

I noticed you are ii/iii does the weight of your ponytail when it swings bother you? I have issues anymore with a ponytail that is any higher up then the nape of my neck.

It looks really good BTW. Pretty, simple and unique!

Great Googly Moogly! That is such a BEAUTIFUL hairstyle. Your directions sound much more doable. Doable enough for me to try.
I saw this type of style in a black & white photograph on a model recently, but they used so much fake hair that it over powered the face. I like yours better.

PS: That is a great shot!

Well yes the weight was a little much, But when I found it bothering me I twisted the pony into a bun for a little bit. That allowed my scalp a little rest.

I forgot who mentioned it, but I did base this style off the black and white image I saw earlier. (Lots of fake hair indeed).

Very cool and innovative. I'm definitely going to try this style if/when my length is long enough for it. This can either look dressy or casual. I also like that it contains hair more like a braid would and yet looks more like a ponytail.
Thanks for sharing!

I tried a side pony today but only using hair friendly elastics. I don't have a hair loop, though, so it looks kind of plain. Elainehali's is so pretty! It looks very unique.
