Could someone give me some links to tutorials for easy buns and up-dos that work well with BSL hair? I'm trying to wear my hair up for most of the summer, in hopes that if I can't see it, it'll seem like it's grown more. =)

My hair is 5 cm past bsl, and these updos work well for me...
equilibrium bun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eKpcYRIr4o
lazy wrap bun: http://s296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/savuinen/?action=view¤t=j001.flv
messy bun: there is an article on lhc which explain a lot of variations! http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=129
I wish these could be useful :)

Equilibrium was my go-to at that length :)
I also do a version of a peacock twist that's looped at the top and then clipped most the way up. Then I make the loops messy. It's actually what I'm wearing today :D

I LOVE the chopstick bun. This tutorial is super easy to understand and which practice this bun holds really well.

Thanks for making this thread. I was wondering the same thing and have been looking for good buns for BSL. The others just end up too tight and barely work. Thanks for the links everyone. :)

No problem!

Start with the French Twist video. See the loop at the top? I just make that much, much bigger, large enough to fit my entire hand in the loop.
I have a lot more hair than the girl in the video so wrap the ends back down the length of the twist, more similar to a log roll:

ETA: The way I do mine is almost exactly like the log roll, but just with a large loop on top and the wrapping kept to the bottom 2/3s.
After I finish wrapping the hair I hold the twisted portion to my head with a slide or Ficcare and then mess up the top :D Here's what it looks like before I tug on the loops and arrange them:
