Barrette Beach Find

While I was at the coast, I found this barrette at an antique/secondhand store. It is made of crystals and soooooo pretty! It's so blinding in the sunlight my head almost has a halo around it. The only problem is that there are a few crystals missing, and you really can't tell unless you look for them. You sure as heck can't tell when its in the sunlight! I am hoping to find some loose ones at bead stores or craft stores or online and to put them back in there with Jewelry Glue.

I love the shape of it. It allows me to wear it above my bun, like a little crown in the back, or down in a V shape with my hair clipped. I even thought the V with a Gibson Tuck would be great.

Alright, here are more pictures. They cannot capture how epically beautiful this thing is or how much it shines, but I thought they were better than nothing. :) Enjoy!

That's positively GORGEOUS!!!!!

I was at a bead shop on Friday afternoon that had all kinds of rhinestones/crystals that you could use to fill in the spaces -- you shouldn't have any problem with that.

And did I mention that it's GORGEOUS?????

And yes, you can find flat back crystals and jewelry glue at Firemountain gems. The only one's I've seen in Michael's are too small.

I did find some gems at the craft store that would not only fit but are the right colors (since some missing ones are AB and others are clear.) When I fix it, I will post it and some new action shots. :)

Alright, here is the barrette before and after I repaired it. You can only really tell the new crystals to not match up with the old ones if you reaaallllly look for them. The new ones do not shine quite as bright, but it's not too obvious.
