Anyone wanna take a stab? I washed my hair earlier but combed it after I got out of the shower. So since I "contaminated" my hair, I did a do-over and this time not even a finger touched my hair and let it drip dry on a towel. Dried under an hour because it's like 80+ degrees in my house.

I am really not use to this.. I've always blow dried my hair straight as a pin!

Thoughts on type?

(ignore my smudging of my face-- natural hair, and no makeup would be too much of a shock for me in one day lol)

Hmmm. I'm no expert, but it looks like long S-waves that maybe come close to spiraling in spots. So...2a?

I'm thinking 2a too, though I think it might change when it gets a bit longer. :)

Just for comparison. This is what my hair looks like blow dried on the cool setting w/ round brush: (I've posted this pic before just recently in my hair coloring thread)

Do you think it will go straighter when it gets longer? Is that what usually happens?

the weight from your hair will straighten it out a little. I think you're between a 2a and 2b.

Here (http://homepage.mac.com/annsofie.henriksson/hairtyping/PhotoAlbum17.html) is a visual reference if it helps. I got it from an article somewhere on here :)

I would think it's 2b. 2a is longer, looser waves... Your waves look more defined :) Very pretty

I am not sure if this makes any difference, but my nape hair (like the baby hairs) curl and there are 1 or 2 small sections that spiral curl near my bangs but its hidden in the picture, it's the hair closest to my head.

This morning I brushed through my hair (with a natural boar bristle brush) and my hair looks like a big frizzy bush =(

Do people with 2 hair types just not brush their hair? Unless I find a way to keep my hair looking pretty it's going to be hard to stay away from the round brush & hair dryer. I really need to though because that's where most all of my breakage comes from. I lose so much hair doing that.

Edit: Just had a thought. I wonder to fix the bush if I should just wet my hair under the sink and let it dry naturally again? Maybe this time with some coconut oil in it?
Thoughts?

2A, I think.

My hair got curlier as it got longer, up to a point. Now the weight pulls most of the natural curl out, although I still get spirals when I air-dry without touching. They don't last long.

Yeah. I don't brush my hair. Poof! D:

Like spidermom said, I was thinking your hair might actually get curlier when it gets longer (up to a point). Only time can tell, though. :)

My first thought was a 2B but it could be a 2A as it gets longer. Hope that helps!

Take a look over at the NaturallyCurly.com website for some ideas on what you can/can't do with curly hair. They have general curl forums, plus separate boards for the different hair types.

And yes, rewetting your hair is the easiest way to renew your curl pattern.

As for brushing, here's a picture of me brushed and not-brushed -- you can probably figure out how often I tend to brush my hair!!!
