whats the difference between usp castor oil and castor oil in the health food stores? I was going to just use the usp one since it's easier to get in the stores (the other kind I have to order online).

thank you ktani..you are like the wiki for all the natural hair ingredients ;)

so the verdict is it's lower in iodine, it should actually be less drying and still be good for hair growth? thanks again.

Thank you, although Wiki is not my first choice for research. It is only as good as its references.

You got it. The lower the iodine value the easier it will be to work with, the less of a coating.

I also have a question about castor oil differences so i thought i'd ask here!

MOP uses castor oil in some conditioners, listed as "PEG-40 Castor Oil". I wonder what PEG-40 means?
