I just wanted to share...

Yesterday after working out, I decided to give my gym's sauna a try.
Like any good hair junkie, I happened to have some deep conditioner handy (LOL.. dont ask) so I decided to slather some on my head before going in (after all, isnt heat suppose to help penetrate the condish?)

I only stayed in for 10 minutes... its all I could take!!! my face was sweating bullets and I was not about to risk a breakout... So I left the gym (yes, with the condish still in my hair... i am truly shameless) went home and shampood like normal then used more of the same condish afterwards for 5 minutes and WOW!!!!!

I prepoo often (its the peanutbutta to my hairs jelly!) but it has has NEVER felt so soft and hydrated!! Not trying to drag out the point, but it had slip, shine, volume, soft body and bounce with perfectly hydrated waves (hair porn...)

for reference this is the condish I used:

dont sleep on this stuff people!!! it is the BUSINESS! :) (unless you are cone free) all that silk......:cloud9:

WATER ,CETEARYL ALCOHOL ,CETYL ESTERS ,GLYCERIN ,STEARALKONIUM CHLORIDE ,AMODIMETHICONE ,SODIUM PCA ,CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE ,TRIDECETH-12 ,HYDROLYZED SILK ,OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL ,BEHENTRIMONIUM METHOSULFATE ,FRAGRANCE ,DMDM HYDANTOIN ,IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE ,YELLOW 5 ,BLUE 1

So ya... Just wanted to share my experience for the ladies who have a sauna available to them!

:hollie::cheer: Woohoo! I love being pleasantly surprised! I haven't tried this..I don't really ever spend time in saunas. I do let SMT's or conditioner sit on my hair a while sometimes (cone-free). I'm sure the heat probably helped. I want to get a heat cap. Maybe that could provide the heat you had previously to give the same results? I've read a lot of people use warm towels..but it costs to do laundry here and i don't wanna warm up just a towel :o
If i ever go to a sauna I'll defiantly keep drowning my hair in conditioner in mind:D

I just joined a gym with a steam room, and I have had my mind on steam-room hair treatments ever since! Can't wait to get in there with some goop on my head, see how it goes...

We only have a dry sauna but sometimes I liberally apply coconut oil and braid before I work out, then bake in the sauna for awhile. I think it helps the coconut oil to penetrate.

Ditto, but I also use my own scalp oil (kitchen sink variety with just about everything in it) before I work out. I believe it gets extra penetration especially since afterwards I usually go into the sauna/steamroom as well.

Many would shy away from a sauna (especially those with longer hair), as they think it would dry out their hair. I combat this with a liberal coating of condish and simply rinse. Never had a problem with 'washing' hair this way (even on a daily basis) and believe the health benefit far outweigh anythng else.
