Hi again!

Next post I will be banned for opening so many new posts for a single subject

Oh well... I'm posting the pictures i took from my trim, because i simply don't have the patience to work for university right now, I'm about to breakdown!! Geesh...

So... they are not very good quality, my hair is not really shiny, because they were taken in the bathroom. They do show to process tough

So this is my hair before the trim, LHC pose
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-3/1154927/169.JPG

And when i pulled it down, as you see, it's just past wais lenght yay!
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-3/1154927/164.JPG

Then I didn't do that process of pulling down the tie because I don't think it is too accurate, so I decided to do the multiple tie thing, and it worked just fine. I actually like th elook of this style on me, tough i wouldn't wear it out with such multiple colors hehe
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-3/1154927/166.JPG

Then I pulled it to the front and these were my ends before
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-3/1154927/167.JPG

And this is after i trimmed about 1 cm (less than half an inch)
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-3/1154927/168.JPG

After this I still did those last steps of dividing my hair to the front and trimmed one more cm from each side. There were only some whispies and what I did was simply get them to be blunt and voila! This is my hair after, LHC pose, and yes, my sister acted artistically with the camera and the angle is crooked :p
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-3/1154927/165.JPG

This is when I pull my hair straight now, and it still gets past waist a little bit yay!!
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-3/1154927/170.JPG

I guess I can call this a successfull self trim. Of course you can't see much of a diference to the quality of the ends but with time they will be just gorgeous! I hope...

And last but not least, this is the current state of my sheddings collection
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-3/1154927/171.JPG

I have finished the first roll of glue tape and am currently working on the second. I am liking the idea of collecting my hair and it's not that worksome. It's a bit sentimental not to be trashing my hair just cause it's not on my head anymore, I do still love it :D

Oh well, hope you liked the pictures! I'll be seeing ya around!

Little Bird, We've missed you!

:thud: Your hair has gotten SO LONG, too :D That shedding progress is just astounding, I'd never have the patience to do that. I can't get over how thick and gorgeous your hair is. :flowers:

Take care, and try not to stress out too much over schoolwork.

That's some pretty terrific hair you've got there, LB; beautiful color and so thick. I've got to tell you, though, just for conversational purposes, that it seems a little odd to me to be collecting/keeping shed hairs. To me that would be like keeping shed skin cells or cut fingernails. On the other hand, my son once cut his hair for a job, and I kept the ponytail and braided it; not so different, I guess. It's about 8-10 inches long.

Great job with your trim! And thanks for all the pictures as well. I am SO going to start saving my shed hairs, and make pretty braids to clip in if I want.
Oh and I really like that ponytail style on you, as well as the different colors, I think it is pretty neat.

Thank's everyone for the kind words!

I do hope to be able to post a little more when uni is over. I do have to say I don't intend to get so forum obessed as I was lat Summer either, because that's really bad and put me in uncomfortable positions. Anyways, I love posting and want to keep doing it, just not checking the baord like 20 times a day =P

About my shedding collection, and to reply to spidermom and swanns, I do think as well that it's a little silly, but i was inspired by another member which I can't remember the name. She had some sort of promise and cutted a very long braid. I tought it was so beautyfull and artistic to have that braid and save it. So I decided to start saving my hair so I could have a braid without having to cut my hair, because that's something I would never do for the purpose ofhaving a braid, and I would never do such a promise as well.

Either ways, it doesn't that that much time, maybe 5 minutes a day (altough I align the strands and save them while I am combing, and I do it twice a day, so it just makes the detangling process a little slower but it's ok, it would always be slow anyways =P).

I am also loving my current lenght. I know I will love it better when my hair is all one lenght, altough I do hope that it will be longer when I reached the point of blunt ends. I am still looking forward to my goal of classic, but I don't feel in a rush anymore and I'm simply enjoying my hair. This summer I will definitly have to try new styles, as I had a conversation with my parents some days ago and I think I'm finally allowed to go and do my own thing about my hair.

So, I definitly love my hair, so so much! I am very tired of my irregular ends tough. You just can't have everything at the same time can you? Specially when it comes to growing out long hair...

Thank's for the comments again!

How beautiful! :thud:
LittleBird, your hair is amazing. The thickness is impressive.
Collecting your shed hairs is a nice spleen, maybe you can't say goodbye because your hair is so precious for you. There's nothing wrong with that habit. ;)

You should check out the thread about shedding collections:
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=4730

What are you going to do with the shed strands? How long did it take fo you to collect this? I'm busy collecting for 3 months and still have only a small strand. But I don't put all shed hairs in the strand, only the longest ones.

Wow Little Bird, your hair looks even better than it did before when we last saw you! :cloud9: So thick and healthy looking. And you did a great job on the self trim.

With bands of the same colour you could definitely wear the multi-tied tail out during the day, it looks fun!

Maybe you should tie your shed hair to a clip, and then you could have removable, extra clip-in braids of your own hair! Hee hee.

Looking good!
Lovi

Heyllo!!

Just arrived from uni today =P Geesh, I don't wanna do my marketing work! BAH! :p

Thank you so much for all the suportive comments!
I do save my hair because I got too attatched to it and I feel sorry about trashing it all. I do still dispose of the hair I shed in the bath, and the hair I lose when I am not at home, but I save it all when I comb my hair.

What I do is to simply comb my hair (I do it on each side separatly) and then take out the hairs that shedded. Then I check where the root is and allign them on top of one of my stuffed petts (I do it on a black one so I can see the hairs easily). Then I collect them from there and save them in a glue tape, as you see in the picture, and keep them in my necklace box, where I can easily reach them.

It sounds like a complicated process but it isn't. I take about 10 minutes to comb my hair, twice a day, and it works perfectly.

I love my new ends by the way. The problem is I still haver one big layer that is all thin and eek... but it will eventually catch up with the rest.

Thank's for all the replies, and I hope I answered all the questions ^^
