Henna and Highlights

A few years ago I highlighted my hennaed hair with one of those at home highlight kits. I came out with insanely bright orange streaks. :justy:
Threw some henna over the top, which fixed the problem, and decided not to do that again.

However...I'm getting the urge to highlight again. I just want some lighter red streaks. Has anyone successfully done this? Or should I just leave well enough alone?

I would say don't henna for about 3 months then try highlighting if it's pure Henna or Henna/Cassia without Indigo.
