Can anyone tell me what a bee butt bun is ? I have never heard of such a thing until today when someone asked me if I tried curling my hair that way. I probably looked at her like she had two heads, I had no idea what she has talking about, but I promised to find out.
Pics ? Tutorials ? Info ?
Thank you !!!!

A bee butt bun is a cinnamon bun where the coils are tighter and stack up UNDERNEATH all the previous ones rather than in a concentric circle. :)

Thanks !!! Someone *meaning not me, lol* should do this and then post a pic of the curls you get from it !! I'm still working on getting my hair in a cinnamon bun. I think I have a mental block, I know it's supposed to be simple, but it's not working :(

Don't worry, I cannot do a cinnamon bun either! :p
However, I can do a bee butt and that's the only bun I can do! :D *Loud and proud* :cheese:
I've got a few results of curls, I'll be posting up shortly.

Edit, I got these in one hour, but my hair is known to easily curl:

Wow, my bangs have really grown out now! :p
Don't mind me, I was playing Mass effect 2 in the background!

Bear in mind, I have quite alot of layers; so your results may be different.
I only shook my head in the first picture, the second picture was right out of the bun.

I assume you used the search function before asking this question? ;) There are lots of results, some of them with pics.

How do you secure your bee butt bun?? That's always baffled me.

If I do one, I use a scrunchie at the base. The only time I wear a BB Bun is when I don't care if anyone sees me.

Pixna, I have seen some people put a scrunchie at the base of their bee-butt bun. My cinnamon buns alsways bee-butt a little, and I secure them just like regular cinnamon buns - Ficcare, fork, sticks, pins.

Those super-awesome long long bee-butt buns (I think Dianyla had a picture in her photo journal over at the old boards) - I confess I don´t know. They must pull like hell, no matter how you secure them.

ETA: Oops, HL - we crossposted. :o

Yeah. I second this. Scrunchies work great and only at home for me.

I always use a scrunchie too. If you have wispies in front that you want to control, a cotton knit scrunchie will hang on to them and contain them better than a satin scrunchie. I wear bee butts out in public. I know they look like a knob on the back of my head but most of the time I really don't care.

I also use a scrunchie most of the time for a Bee-Butt Bun.

Also, the Bee-Butt Bun is the base for both the Figure 8 Bun and the Infinity Bun, so it's a good bun to know for a variety of reasons.

so I just tried curling my hair with this kind of bun the other day and I was surprised at the curl I got, it looked like back when I used to use hot rollers

Oh, pretty curls Sammich and Angeletti!

I love bee-butt buns ... I think I'm about the only person to proudly wear them in public :p I usually secure them with small clips around the perimeter. I've never been able to get hair sticks to hold a bee-butt for long.
