View Full Version : "Pulled-through" equilibrium bun variation

I've recently started doing a variation on the equilibrium bun that I really like and thought I'd share. It starts out the same, twisting your hair with your hand in the middle so the ends wind up near the roots, but once you've got it all the way twisted, you pull the ends through the loop in the middle where your hand is. Pulling it a little bit brings the twisted length of it into a coil/bun, and then there's a little tail (I like hairstyles that are mostly updo with a little tail coming out). I generally secure it with a stick or fork. I never had much luck dealing with the ends in a standard equilibrium bun, so this one works a lot better for me.

I love how thick it makes my hair look!

That looks just lovely. I too really like that look of some locks hanging from the bun. I don't know if I'll ever have long enough hair to enjoy this style, but I certainly do admire it. Beautiful!

That looks so nice! Especially with the coil-y curl on the tail part.

Ends explode out of mine no matter what; no need to pull them out.

Very pretty! I'll have to give it a try, but my equilibrium buns are still hit or miss.
