Major spring/summer shed anyone!?!??!

Does anyone go through a major shed during the Spring/summer time?

I have noticed that for past couple of years i have been losing tons of hair around spring/summer.

Any ideas on how i can stop it? or Reasons behind it?

I have noticed that happening to me as well. My dog also happens to be shedding so I've just assumed that it's to stay cooler in the summer like I think it is for my dog. I don't know for certain though or what to do about it other than to let it do what it wants to. I cut off a few inches of damaged ends today to see if it was them causing the "shedding" or if it is just natural. I don't yet know.
