Is this hip? (opinions - pic)

OK, so I am definitely clear on where my waist is, and also where BCL is, but I am rather clueless about where "hip" is in LHC terms!

I just took a pic of my wet hair to get some opinions! How long is my hair? What do you all think?

(For informational purposes, BCL starts below that belt loop in my jeans, and is out of the picture, so I'm nowhere near there yet).

Edit: my hair is nearly dry now, so I'm adding a second pic to show the shrinkage! I'm not sure if it's still at hip now it's dry!

If your hipbones are the same as my hipbones, I'd say you are at least an inch past hip :D

Well, I always understood it as the widest part of your hips. For alot of people, that's where they wear their jeans. From my POV, I'd say you are just at hip! Your hairs are flipping up a bit which means pulled straight you are past it a bit. Congratulations!! :cheese:

BTW: That is my goal length and hemline! So jealous!! :D

Oh I hadn't thought of that! "Hip" isn't a word I would normally use in that sense, so it hadn't occurred to me that it could be misinterpreted!

Oh, thank you! Glasseyes, I'm really not as far as tailbone. I must have a long torso. My, ahem - "vertical smile" does not start until further down than the picture shows.

The only way to tell would be to take a naked picture (which, needless to say, I would not be posting here)!

I feel like a fraud. I had a look in the mirror this morning without the clothes on, and I really don't think my hair is down to my hips yet. It really isn't. I can't exactly post a nude photo here to show you what I mean, but it looks different when you see it without the clothes.

Mind you, I had my hair in plaits overnight, so it had gone a bit wavy and lost some length in the process. Hmmm.

I am going to change my length status back to "waist" just in case! I know it's below my waist but I don't feel like it's reached my hips!

GRU, I have curly/wavy hair as well, but I don't normally wear it loose or let it dry in its natural curl pattern due to resulting tangles. If I did, it would shrink a lot. On top it's just wavy, but underneath, there are these spiral curls that would cause a lot of shrinkage!

Different people mean different things when they say "tailbone." What I mean by tailbone is BCL, and that was the goal I set out to reach. Not too far away now! Yay!

I have the darndest time defining hip length. Eventually I gave up and went with, in order: "waist length", "long waist length", "belt length", "sort of past belt length", "almost tailbone", and "tailbone length". However you call it, your hair looks great and long! Congrats!

Hip is different places on different people. Can you find your hipbones? That's where 'hip' length is generally defined. Can you find your tailbone? That's where tailbone is usually defined, butt crack height doesn't really have a lot to do with it :)

a) If you assume that 'hip' is the top of your pelvic bones then yes, beyond a doubt, your hair is hip length

b) It is seriously lovely hair

c) A friend of mine was trying to coin the word 'jarvis' to describe the 2 inches of bum cleavage visible at the top of a builder's trousers - your hair is therefore not at BCL, but is clearly 'jarvis length'
