I got my hair cut today, love my new 'look'!

Over the years I have tortured my hair with dye and peroxide and I have finally decided to let it be happy and healthy. I went to the hair dressers today, asked her to cut off all the damage and to even out my colour as I had chunky (ugly) blonde streaks through it. She took a lot of the weight out of it through the front and the top which is great, and I actually didn't have half as much damage as I thought which is a relief :D

So today is step one on my road to recovery!

My hair is naturally quite wavy, but I just love the loose curls she put it. I was watching her like a hawk as she did it to make sure I could try and replicate the results myself.

(And sorry for the crappy photos, I am still trying to figure out how to use my camera in low light settings :p)

It looks so pretty ! Did she use a large barreled curling iron on you ? If I style my hair that is what I do and your curls look very similar.

She used ceramic irons and curled the hair around them as she ran them down my hair. Looked pretty simple :)

I live in Leiria, do you know it? About 130 km north from lisbon.
Lisbon is great, right? At least, I love it but I'm biased towards my country and I'm also biased towards big cities as a general principle because there's always something interesting happening :). May I ask what you're doing in Portugal? Studying, working? (sorry I'm going off topic).

I know how to curl my hair with my flat iron, but I chose not to. I find I can duplicate the curl with my regular curling iron and it does not get as hot as my ceramic flat iron.

She took almost nothing off the length at the back, maybe 1/2", but took several inches off the layers through the back and about the same through the front.

My hair is red, or copper as my hair dresser referred to it :p It's been all sorts of colours over the years, so it's nice to finally be back to my natural colour all over. I did have a lot of blonde around my face, partly from natural highlights from working outside, partly from the evil peroxide!!

gi2121 - Last year I was living near Vila Franca de Xira and Alenquer, just north of Lisboa. I know Leiria, never been there but a friend of mine is studying there :)

It must be refreshing to be rid of all the damaged bits. It's great that your hairdresser listened to what you wanted, and didn't cut off too much. The cut you have now should grow out very nicely.
