I've kinda been considering bangs again latley, I just think I look to plain and bare with all my hair scraped back. But do you think that curly hair with straight bangs would be weird and do you really think I would suit them??
Hers some pics (ignore the icky hair these were taken a while ago:

You look fine either way, but I think I do prefer the bangs slightly.

However, do you really want all the fuss that goes along with them? I guess if you've had them before you know what you are getting into.

Every once in a while, I start thinking about bangs again. I haven't had them since elementary school, but I think they might look good. What keeps holding me back is the constant trimming, the thought of hair on my forehead when it's hot outside or I'm exercising, and the pain in the @ss they are to grow out if I decide I don't like them.

Hope you like whatever you decide.

I like your no-bangs look better.

Personally, I like how you look without bangs a teensy bit better than with bangs. However, if you do get them, they'll look good as well :) I'm wondering, would you straighten them or leave them curly? I really like the look of face-framing layers on curly hair.

Those bangs are a big pain in the butt to keep at that eyebrow skimming length, and your face in my opinion suits no bangs better. Not to mention the dreaded curly bangs to straighten every morning, as some of my curly friends complain.

I think you look nice both ways. Have you considered longer side-swept bangs? They're easier to maintain and to grow out than straight-across blunt bangs. And you can blow them straight or if they're longer leave them curly to blend in with the rest of your hair more. Just an idea. :)

I vote against getting the bangs. I think that you look so pretty without them.
How are you with bangs in your face all of the time? the tickling of them, or in my eyes bug me.
I am afraid that they won't lay right for you. The pictures that you show of the bangs that you like are all on straight hair - your hair is curly & curly bangs get a mind of their own, especially in the summer time. They will take a lot of time to straighten all the time.
So I vote "no".
(P.S. I am in the process of growing out mine now that I wish that I had not cut)

You'd look great both ways, but I think I'd vote for no bangs. The straight across kind are hard to pull off and a pain to keep up (especially, I imagine, for someone with curly hair). But it's up to you, of course.

I like the bangs--but they are a lot of work. If you've had them before, and you're prepared for it, I say go for it. And it can look great with curly hair, actually--just look at some gothic lolita photos.

However, definitely go for bangs more like the third picture--the longer pieces at the sides will look nicer.

I vote for no bangs, too, but I'm prejudiced as I'm trying to grow mine out. They take a lot of maintenance as others have mentioned. You need to trim them every 6 weeks to keep them from looking scraggly. You would need to straighten or at least style them. And, of course, what happens when you no longer want them? They take a loooooong time to grow out and that in-between stage, where I'm at now, is a royal PITA.

You look good with or without bangs. I'm leaning towards saying that I prefer the bangs. Bangs are absolutely no work for me as a straightie, but I wonder how much work they would be for you. Is the time and trouble worth it?

Only you can answer that. So my opinion is bangs would be great if you're prepared for dealing with them on a daily basis as a curly.

And straight bangs do look cool with curly hair.

Wow your hair colour is beautiful! Okay, well, I don't like the bangs from any of the pictures you suggested, but I do like the bangs you had in the last photo of you. I think though, it may seem a little silly to have such straight bangs with curly hair.

I think if you really have your heart set on bangs, I'd consider some longer side swept bangs, or long face framing layers, both of which you can leave curly, or blow out to have waves.

I prefer no-bangs on you. Bangs kind of shorten your face. I have always thought straight bangs looked odd with curly hair.

Some face framing layers might be nice, but if you're trying to achieve one length than just get it go!

Definitely no bangs. I don't know why, but the straight-bangs/curly-hair look seems very... half-done, to me. Growing them back out is a huge pain, too. See if you can get some clip-in bangs to test-drive the look on yourself first if you are really leaning toward having bangs.

I don't like bangs on me; in fact I'm trying to grow mine out and they are a pain in the butt. I can't stand when the wind blows them on my face and I can't pull them back in a bun.

I think curly hair looks best with curly bangs! It looks so much more natural and free-spirited than straight bangs with curly hair.

All I can offer here is some advice and in my experience I've always regretted cutting bangs...always :)

I like the no-bangs a little more. But I might be a little biased. I've been growing mine out, they were kind of a pain.

I prefer you with no bangs, but then again, I think bangs are high maintenance.. especially if you have to straighten them all the time.

I have curly hair and I cut bangs a few months ago. I regret it terribly. They have a mind of their own and unless you are willing to work on them, they are not worth it. They are now at the point that they do this flippy thing. Even if you do manage to get them straight, you will be dreading humid or rainy days. You are pretty without them or as was mentioned before, you can try curly bangs, but you need to remember that once you cut them, you may be engaging on a journey to grow them back.

The second link of Jenny is so cute! I have always shied away from bangs because they seem like more work and require heat styling.

I say do it. I have and love bangs right now and I say hair is just hair. Sure, I'd prefer it if they were side-swept rather than super straight across, but they're hair. they'll grow.

I say go for a side fringe and no it doesn't look weird to have it straightened with your level of curls and wurls.

hehe I know I love the L Word!

Thanks guys, I forgot how annoying those bangs were when they got to the wrong length, but my face just looks so blahh when all my hair is back. I might look into the whole curly bangs.
