Indian oils

Does anyone use the Indian herbal oils with mineral oil in them? Just wondering if these are a complete no-no. I seem to read mixed things on mineral oil... but I'm assuming it doesn't do anything (good or bad) and is just a cheaper oil to use, but the herbal extracts should still work in it?

Part of the point of using the indian oils is for the properties of the herbs etc extracted into them to penetrate the scalp, delivering them to where the hair is growing. Mineral oil forms a kind of film, it does not penetrate the skin at all and as it is a barrier i'd assume it would also hinder the absorbtion of the herb extracts too.
Personally this is the main reason i choose not to use products with them in unless for example it was a harsh winter and i wanted an oil purely to protect my length.

Mineral oil isn't so great. It won't hurt anything, but it won't do any good either. :)
