Eeeek! I don't need it, per se, but I want to get tiny trims maybe every 4 months as my layers catch up to my length (and I admit, I LOVE going to my salon - my hair stylist is awesome and I adore the scalp massages the shampooist gives).

So question is, how much does one normally trim in these situations? My layers are a LOT shorter than my ends (maybe 10 inches?), so I don't know that there's going to be any visible "catch-up" at this point. Do I go with 1/4 inch? Half? A whole inch? I have no idea. My hair grew about an inch last month, so I'm thinking between hair vitamins and warmer weather, I'll make up the difference quickly, so no worries there.

Thoughts? How much do you usually trim at this point?

Thanks!

Half inch sounds good. No more than that should be needed. If your ends are in good condition and you don't really need the trim, I think the full inch would just make you feel like your hair is suddenly too short, since you're trying to grow it out.
