3 Months Progress Since Return To LHC

Hi everyone! :waving: As some of you longtime members know, I took a very lengthy break from LHC and all other social Internet activity for about 15 months. I was concentrating more on real life. During that time I cut and maintained my hair's length to get rid of some of the damage that I inflicted on my hair in 2008. In mid-January, I returned to LHC and I've begun letting my hair grow again, as the worst of the damage is gone.

I wasn't going to make a thread for this, but I remembered how sometimes as a new member seeing the progress of short lengths of time could be so encouraging. This also shows why taking progress photos every month is so helpful

Here is my progress from February 1 to May 1 of this year. The photo is clickable. I'm so happy to be back here at LHC! :blossom:

To answer a couple of questions, I do have a rapid growth rate, that's for sure. My hair grows at least 3/4 inch per month. It always did, but my hair used to be very spindly by this length.

Also, there's no question that my pin-straight hair allows ever millimetre of growth to show.

I do not take any supplements specifically for my hair.

LHC care has really allowed me to thicken up my hair because of less breakage.

When I was this length when I first joined LHC, the last several inches of my hair were see-through. It's much thicker now. I used to be able to do a Figure 8 bun with even shorter hair, but I can't do it right now, because my hair is so much thicker.

As to my colour, L'Oreal Preference in Medium Blonde needs to take the credit for that.

Regarding my hair care regimen, it's pretty simple. I CO wash, use jojoba oil on my ends, SMT every couple of weeks, and apply coconut oil to my hair before I touch up my roots with dye.

I never use heat products and I only gently finger comb my hair until it's dry, when I use a wide toothed horn comb to finish the detangling, and make my hair smooth.

I deep oil about every 2 weeks as well, with Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Coconut Oil before COing.

And lastly, I trim 1/2 inch off my ends every 3-4 months to keep my hemline even and fuller.

Looks great! I'm new here but I'm already so excited about being here and getting inspired from progress pics like this one. I'm starting at a little shorter though; an inverted bob! that's a ton of growth and you have such gorgeous hair; everytime I see it, it makes me a little bit want to go blonde, knowing that you've achieved gorgeous blonde hair on a similar hairtype! :D (I am not going to, but only because I don't think I can be bothered with colour maintenance :p)
