View Full Version : I invented an updo!

:cheese: I was playing with hairstyles the other day and invented an updo :D

I try to give you instructions. Bare with me, when they are not very clear. Please ask, if anything is unclear!

1. Make an half-up and fix both strains with a mini clip each.

2. Take the rest of your hair and make a ponytail. I used a strain of my own hair instead of a bubble and fixed it under the ponytail with a bobbypin.

3. Divide the ponytail into two strains.

4. Twist each strain. Lead each strain upwards to create a little slope and fix it each with anoter clip. It should look like a bretzel :D

Done.

Here are the results:

I think I call it Butterfly Bun (suggestion made by a user on a different forum). What do you think?

Here is a step-by-step instruction. Excuse the state of my hair, it was before washing day!

2. http://i792.photobucket.com/albums/yy205/FiendishMinx/Haare/DSC02166.jpg

6. http://i792.photobucket.com/albums/yy205/FiendishMinx/Haare/DSC02175.jpg

7. Repeat step 6 with the other side.

Of course it looks so much nicer with freshly washed hair, so my apologies for that!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Thank you!

No sorry I do not have a video. Don't the photos help a bit? I had hoped they might :(

When your hair is so long I suggest creating little cinnamon buns on each side and fix them to your head with bobby pins.

Thank you for the pictures they really help a lot. I was unclear about how to make the pony tail & it cleared it all up for me.

How lovely! Thanks for the step-by-step pictures. Those helped a lot. Have you put it in the articles section yet? I bet this would be a popular style for people searching for something new and romantic!

OK, so I tried it! Here's how it went. I'm not a huge fan of clips, so I tried it with barrettes and plain pins.

I like it, though I think I'd have to work on the cinnabuns a bit to get them to swirl more elegantly. These are a little wonky. But overall, I could see it dressing up nicely.
