View Full Version : What hairstyles, cuts, length do you like on the opposite sex?

Personally, as long as it looks clean and groomed up, up to date with trends.
I know most guys like girls with long hair but is there a certain length, colour, ect..that you prefer?. Ladies, is there a certain way you like your mans hair? Does it matter to you?
Just curious :):p

I like my boyfriend with hair from 2-4". As far as style goes, he just runs a pair of clippers over his head all on one setting lol. I've upgraded him to 2 different clipper lengths, longer on the top and shorter on the sides. He has such nice and soft blond hair :p

I don't like long hair on men it would take a very special one to pull that off, braveheart or something.
I don't know about hairstyle, but I'm not sure I like it being all gunky with product overuse.
As far as colors go I like blonde, but it's definitely not any kind of requirement.

I like just about any length, so long as it's natural and isn't overly styled. My DH keeps his shaved most of the time, and that's just fine with me :)

Well, I'm gay so I'm personally not attracted to the opposite sex. :)
I personally do not view the length of anyone's hair as a measure of their attractiveness. To me, a very handsome guy or a beautiful lady would be just as good looking if he or she had a shaved head or he or she had classic length hair. Of course, a caring and loving personality and a sense of humor is also extremely sexy IMHO.

I like both sexes, and I'm not particular about length or color--I tend to take in the whole picture. Although women with long, light colored hair tend to grab my attention more often. Conversely, I tend to like dark hair on men. Both long and short can work on a man, just depends on who's wearing it.

As long as, in my perception, the hair suits the person, then whatever works! Although normally I do prefer some (or more) length to no length.

I never thought I liked longer than ear length hair on men, and then I met my husband, who keeps his in a neat, low ponytail and it is anywhere from shoulder to APL when loose. He wears it long not as an aesthetic, but because he is a practical, lazy engineer and was tired of getting it cut every six weeks
On most guys I do prefer clean and cropped, not overly styled, but I couldn't picture my husband with shorter hair again - it does NOT flatter him!

It can be anything longer than buzz cut. Bald is a no-no, even if there's male-pattern balding going on, i support growing what they got. Could be as long as possible like, midback, waist, Tb, classic, floor ... :D
Color should be either natural blond or natural red, i cannot stand hairdye on men :( Seriously, i'd faint right away if i saw classic length red or blond haired guy! o___O
Oh, I'll also have some coffee please :D

I'm bi, and generally I'm not too bothered about hair length on either sex. I don't really find VERY short hair (talking less than an inch, things that remind me of military cuts, etc) or baldness attractive, but apart from that, it's fair game, and all about it suiting their face and character and THEM being in love with their hair. It's not a big enough deal to me that baldness/supershort is much of a turn off, I just prefer otherwise.
That said, DBF currently has his hair around 2-3 inches all over, and I preferred it a bit longer. It was really super pretty at 4+ inches, and gorgeous at collar length. But it's not my hair :p

It really does depend on the person, the shape of someones face and even body. Generally I prefer men with longer hair. Sort of "surferish" vibe if you get my drift. :D But some men look great with a shaved head (coincidentally all my boyfriends so far have had longish (not yet shoulder lenght) hair). I must say however that longer than shoulder on a man for me is definitely a no-no.
I think most women look good with longer hair, but some very long lean modelish types (think Agyness Deyn, Twiggy, etc) look great with pixie cuts.:)

I'm the opposite. :) Mostly I like blond men and I like dark, long hair on women. But I also take the whole picture - there are long haired guys, short haired guys, blondies, brunettes, and even shaved headed guys that I find attractive.

I love a fresh "1 on the sides, 2 on the top" buzz cut on my husband. Feels like velvet.
I find shaved or buzzed sexy, but I think other hairstyles look better on a day-to-day basis. Does that make any sense?

Personally how long or curly someone's hair is doesn't make a difference to me. I've found men attractive on both end of the length spectrum. As long as it looks well kept, it doesn't matter to me. I do prefer darker hair though.

Mr Cranky has very little hair and what's left is buzzed off. I have no interest in what he does with his hair. Never have. I don't have much interest in looking at a guy's hair but a nice ponytail or braid will get a second look from me. One time I actually followed a guy around a WM for a few minutes so I could ogle his hair  Regular "guy" type short hair doesn't interest me and I pay no attention to it.

I love long hair period. But for some reason I find myself mostly attracted to women with short hair. I think long is gorgeous (hell, I'm growing it myself), but there's just something about funky punky short hair and those severe 20's bobs and other daring, edgy hairstyles that I just find incredibly sexy on women.
On men, it's a different story XD I LOVE IT LONG. Even if a guy is gorgeous with short hair and long hair looks less pretty, I'm still like "grow your hair mannn!"
Not that I can't be attracted to short haired men, but I'm just such a long haired-men fan. It's almost creepy.
It's not even all about how it looks on that particular guy, it's more a kind of this thing that says: "Hey. I like my hair long and I'm rockin' it. Seems like we have the same style in one way at least 8)"
And for women that counts too, but replace "long" with "edgy/funky/daring/punky/whatever"
Errrrrr, I don't know. I don't make much sense I guess. But I like anything ROCK and HIPPIE and WILD. But also elegant and sophisticated.
You could say I have this strange love for things that aren't standard. And for long hair on guys, even if it's much more standard than other wild and brightly-coloured punky 'dos you can think of.

I like it when a guy has long enough hair that I can bury my fingers in it. This also means that I don't want it stuffed full of hair gunk. I like it soooft. :D Also, I used to love dark haired guys, but lately I've developed a real fondness for redheads. :)
But I'm not picky though, guys can look good with all kinds of hairdos. It's mostly what suits their looks and style. (Like, I've never really been fond of the whole buzzed short style, but on Wenthworth Miller it looked hot.)

I'm visually attracted to long hair on either gender, but it really does depend on the person. Long hair just doesn't work for some people (like my ex-bf, though he really tried to grow his hair long after leaving the military, he had lost too much to baldness and it was very, very greasy.)

On men, I like hair long enough to see and appreciate the natural color and texture. My husband keeps his hair very short, but I love it when it's "time for a haircut" in his opinion and I can see the curls forming.

On guys I prefer shorter hair. But as long as their hair is clean and the style fits them, I like it.
On girls I prefer long, flowing hair (especially if they're a redhead! :thud:). Probably because I want to be able to play with it. :-D But the same applies here, as long as the style fits them and it's well groomed I'll like it.

On guys I prefer hair less than 2 inches, but if it's curly/wavy it can be a few inches longer. I've never thought about a preference for color, but I guess I prefer dark brown/black.

I think it depends on the person, but if I'm gonna take the shallow approach and imagine I'dd tell someone "I only date you because you look right" (or don't.. wichever :p) I really dislike short hair, and I can find long hair to be a bit too much also.,
So I guess the dream man would have something similar to what the character "Matt Camden" on "7th Heaven" had in the first seasons...

Hm, the common denominator is "not too short!" Something for me to run fingers through, if it's longer, the better! Otherwise fine, coarse, blonde, dark, straight or curly it's all good! I do recall pleasant experiences with fine silky blonde hair, and coarse mouse brown curly hair :inlove: The nice thing about curls is that they seem to embrace your fingers and make you linger more there.

I love dark- or redhaired men, but I'm not so particular about the length. I don't like buzzcuts or bald heads and I do prefer it to be longer than average, but it does have to suit the guy. My bf has dark wavy/curly hair that looks best at a length between ears and shoulders, otherwist it turns into a puffball, and he doesn't use product. My dreamhair :-) I also really don't like the look of overgelled hair, just looks icky and you can't run your fingers through it.

I usually prefer dark hair. And I've always loved red hair!
I always love to see long, healthy hair. Anything from BSL and longer.
I love seeing all styles that women wear. Seeing a pretty updo is always a treat.
My wife has dark, curly hair. Her hair currently is touching her shoulders when dry. I preferred it when she had it longer, but it's her hair and she needs to wear it how she likes it :).
I love curly hair, but I also like just about any other texture as well.

I like whatever makes the guy feel good about himself, honestly. Confidence and comfort is sexy.
My boyfriend had bsl (if he wore a bra, haha! XD) blonde virgin hair when I met him (think young leon russell) and asked me to cut it all off this past winter. Which was horrible and saddening but I kept his ponytail, and he's now between chin and shoulder length, and growing it back out. His beard is around 3 inches long.
I love mountain men! :D

It depends on the individual - some fellows can pull off both long or short hair and some look better in only one or the other. Just as some look better with facial hair and some without.
Not a fan of the spiky-gel look. When a guy looks like he spends more time in front of the mirror every morning than I do (which is not a very large amount of time!) that is a superb turn-off.
I like a natural guy, with facial hair, their born-with hair-colour and some scruffiness going on :)

I have dated men with varying hair length, color, and type, and have to say the one thing that matters to me is that it is clean and not full of products. Guys who abuse their hair with a lot of products and chemicals are just not attractive to me at all. The only style that I see currently that I really don't like is the mullet, ugh. My husband is bald, he shaves his head. I find it very sexy, and it suits him well, though there was a point in time when he had dreads.
I broke from my hair rules one time about 20 years ago to briefly date a guy who did the jheri curl thing to his hair. He had a gorgeous length, just past his shoulders, but I couldn't deal with the goop in his hair all the time. When it got on the headrest in my car, that was it for me. I liked him, but told him it just wasn't working for me. I didn't want to make him feel bad about his hair choices, it was his hair after all and not mine. I sure am glad that time has passed, the dripping curls just made me feel squicky at the thought of touching them. Now if only the mullet would disappear for good! lol

I generally go for long hair. One thing I loath is the ponytail most of the time, on guys, especially those with very curly hair. It just seems very "gamer" to me, though a lot of my guy friends have it. I do have one guy friend who can pull it off, he dresses very Victoriany/steampunk, has a very handsome looking beard, and it is a very nice look for him. I don't really like a lot of trendy looks. The spiked short hair, and the "fauxhawk" tend to look a bit off. Other than that, I tend to like guys who dye their hair an unusual color, and pretty much anything but a buzzcut(or shaved heads, it just makes me question... Why are you balding at 16-20, in my head! xD). I do like it if a guy has healthy, well taken care of looking hair, regardless of the style.

I've never really cared about how long or short a guy's hair is, but I do seem to be more drawn to dark hair. My SO's hair is almost black with threads of silver. When I met him years ago, he wore it long. That looked good and it looks good now that it's short, too. :)

Well for length I like to at least have something to run my fingers through! Ironically my ex and current bf are balding with shaved heads :S Go figure!! As for color on a man I am drawn to dark hair I occasionally am attracted to blond men, but they are few and far between.
For women its gotta be long, curly or strait don't matter to me I also prefer dark hair. Tho tbh if they got the look hair dose not matter so much :)

I know this is going to sound really odd, but I love side parted hair and side bangs on both sexes. That "emo" look is just very sexy to me (but not a real emo!). Length can be past the shoulders, but on guys I don't think hair longer than APL is sexy (unless you're Braveheart?). On gals, you can grow it as long as you want - just part it to the side! 8D I especially like dark hair as well - rich chocolate browns and jet blacks can be so beautiful. Just no nasty blonde chunks or streaks to ruin that lovely color!
God only knows why my tastes are so peculiar... :soapbox:

I like just about every style on men AND women! No matter what the style is, I've seen someone owning it like they spent three hours in a stylist's chair before their photoshoot.
As long as it's clean/groomed, I don't really care what style is being worn...I usually see hair that is "touchable" as the most attractive. :D
I think, overall, I tend to prefer darker shades on everyone, but the first two people I ever dated were blond so...it's obviously not a deal breaker! :) My fiance currently has fairly long, dark hair right now.

I like long dark hair on men, especially when it's down, makes me melt. Though I prefer it to have some body, gentle waves etc, not straight. So it's not surprising my boyfriend has tailbone length dark brown hair which falls into natural ringlets at the ends. It's very sexy. :D
