View Full Version : May 2010 Measure In!

countryhopper
May 2nd, 2010, 08:08 AM
I've been looking through the past couple of pages for May's measuring post, but couldn't find it. If there is one and I'm starting a second one, please feel free to merge it, mods!

Anyhow, I'm up another inch from last month! One inch of growth each month for the last three months (since I discovered the site!) Hooray!

19.5 to 20.5= one inch :cheese:

It was much easier to measure this month since I marked a paper measuring tape from IKEA with highlighted colors. Just a glance in the mirror instead of trying to guess what teh small numbers are!

33.5 I did a 3ish inch trim a couple months ago (was at 35.5inches in march)

Think my term length is nearish...it is growing less then an inch a month.
Oh well

I was thinking about starting this thread in the morning.
So, last month my hair was 113.5 cms, and I trimmed 1 cm on 1 April. It was 114.5 cms the day before yesterday. It grew 2cms in April, but I trimmed half a cm so it's back to 114 cms.
I decided to trim more often from now on because my ends are thin.
I'm close to my goal, only 5 inches to go so it doesn't matter much. :D

Still 80% zero on the scalp, but I have new growth of eyelash and nasal hair.

I made it to 31 inches :)

I am officially waist length now (30 inches) and only a couple more from hip! :disco:

(I really need a new photo & thread for my milestone!)

I got to 21" even, which is 5/8 of an inch. Not too shabby! :cheese:

32". I was probably at 31.5 last month even if I could only see 31" on the tape measure. The waves at the ends make measuring a bit hit or miss

I measured it last night it was 29 1/2 so 1/2" gained last month.:cheese:

Up a quarter of an inch this month - 25.25" from 25". It's growing so slow! I don't know what the deal is. The good news is that it's basically just not shedding. At all.

I'm just past 25.5'' up from 25'' three weeks ago. :)

im not measuring this month...but I do have to say that as hard as I tried NOT to, I couldnt fight the urge to measure a couple weeks ago when I straightened it and it read a bit over 21" in some places

I'm back up to nearly 27" after a 1 1/2 inch "trim" (I asked for just a dusting :brickwall ) the last day of March. I'm swearing off trimming, even S&D'ing for as long as I can stand it. So, I think I ended up with about .75" inches of growth in April. I was past 27" before the cut, but I don't know by how much

I'm now at 12 inches, yay! Only up 1/4 of an inch since last month, but I got 3/4 of an inch taken off a few weeks ago.

On a self-measure I get 35". We'll get that verified in a minute by DH.......... okay, the measurement is... 35". (I had a trim of about 4-5" a month ago). Hoping to get some new growth.

I gained 7/8" this month with is 2/8" more than normal. I've been taking Hair Food Plus by Figaro and using Miconozole Nitrate in my hair every 3 days or so (started halfway through last month) so I think that is helping.

Will see how I go next month to see if there is any actual gain from using the Miconozole Nitrate.

I'm also drinking Rooibos tea which is supposed to aid in hair growth and I was thinking of maybe applying it to my scalp and massaging it in before bed. Who knows??

Right on target. Gained 0.75 inch this month, and did my monthly 0.25-inch trim, leaving me at 34.5 inches. Steadily cutting out those thin ends while closing in on tailbone!

Little bit over 37 inches for me this month.

I think I gained between 0.5 and 0.75'' this month, putting me at a solid 39''. I think my measurement last month was a bit off.

Oooh, please let us know how that goes!

I've been drinking Rooibos for a while after a friend suggested it to me. It's amazing for your skin and it helped clear up my acne. I hadn't heard that it was supposed to do anything for your hair!

That's interesting! :)

23.5" Hello all! Just joined the forums a few days ago. I'd estimate around half an inch per month of growth, but we'll see next month.

I made this account in December, last year... and well... I kind of abandoned it. :(

So, I'm starting again. My hair length is currently 22.5" :( Ah, that sucks

Weird, I thought I posted in this thread but now I can't find my reply. Measuring over my head the LHC way, I got the same number I had last month, but measuring from my nape (which I feel is more precise because I can put the ruler in exactly the same place each time), I show an inch of growth.

I think you're right! It gives me smaller numbers (boo ;) ) but measuring at the nape seems more precise to me. Over my head, I just can't see what I'm doing and it's hard to get consistent measurements. At least I had a good amount of growth!

Didn't gain a full 1/2 inch this month although I'm now brushing my bra strap. So that was unexpected and I'm happy about that!

So this month: 23 7/8"

So, when I first signed up I measured my hair for the first time ever. I got 34 inches. I've just remeasured for the May measure in, and I don't know if an error is responsible, but I am now measuring 34.5 inches. I do know I have has some growth because my roots show it very obviously. If my hair is planning to grow an inch per month this summer I'll sure take it! :D

Almost 32". So I gained again about 0.5" last month

I'm at 39.5“, and I was at 38.5“ on March 1rst... That's half an inch growth every month?! And I hoped I would reach 40“ for May 1rst! Anyway, it's not shedding too much, so I guess I should just be patient, and try some hair vitamins...

I'm at 33 3/4". I was hoping for 34". I'll measure again the next time I wash it and see. I always have to take several measurings and kind of do an average.

ArienEllariel

same as last month. No growth at all. :( maybe a 1/4 of an in. in the last 2 months.

I was at 33.75 the beginning of April. I got a good trim April 23 and just today measured 33.25. A little shorter, but a much nicer hemline for hopefully more growth!

May 4th, 2010, 06:05 AM
I'm at 56.5" and holding. I;m at my goal length which is about 56.5-57" so I let it grow to 58" then trim it back to 56". Last time though, I had it trimmed back to 55.5" so I'll have a slightly longer grow out this time around.

InTheCity
May 4th, 2010, 08:49 PM
25.5" and I'm honestly pretty happy with the way it looks, despite it only being 5" longer than when I started 16 months ago (because of trims, and the math is actually perfect.)

I can not wait to get to 26 and 27... those to me just "sound" long!

joiekimochi
May 4th, 2010, 08:59 PM
26.5" I've slowed down and I'm perhaps stalling. Oh well~ At least my hair is much smoother and healthier now!

May 5th, 2010, 05:09 PM
I got a trim so I'm back down at 24.25. My total growth was .75" though so without the cut I would have been 26.25". Good bye sweet inches, I'll see you in a few months.

I got my husband to measure my hair today! It was my VERY first time ever I have done this, and it was kind of fun!:)

I was 68 cm or 26,8 inches!

So now I will do this once a month to see what MY growth rate is, because I have NEVER been able to tell, and have been so curious since so many talk about their growth rate, lol.
It is not that long really, but it was kind of fun to see anyway:eyebrows:

I'm at 72cm -- which would be what, about 29 inches? Thrilled to be about 3cm below BSL again, and dumbfounded that I seem to have had a whole centimetre's growth in all of two weeks. (Unless, of course, I made a mistake when I measured it two weeks ago!)

31" after trimming of half an inch

SpeakingEZ
May 6th, 2010, 01:28 PM
31.5 inches!!!!!! It's the first half inch I've seen my hair past 30 since before I started heavily damaging it 3 years ago. When I first joined LHC, it was just stuck there at 30. As I've been taking care of it, I started trimming off .5" of damage a month and it kept growing back, so I decided to let it keep growing this month and YAY!!!!!!!!! Yay for taking care of hair!!!!!!

So, 30" to 30.5" in roughly 3 weeks (wow!).

Only half an inch to go until waist length! 1.5 inches to go until I'm absolutely, no question about it, definitely waist-length!

Thats good, it is so easy to step on someones toes not even realizing it:o

And I really do NOT understand inches either:confused:, living in a country that uses only the metric system everywhere. So as soon as I get out of my comfort zone I am like, I don`t geeeet iiiit....:headache:

Cirafly24
May 8th, 2010, 02:39 AM
35.75"...up 0.75" from April, and 1.75" since I started taking biotin and MSM right around March 23th. That's averaging just over 1/4 inch per week!

dragonfrog
May 9th, 2010, 01:39 PM
39.5"... up .75" since last month (but it's really been 5 weeks since my last measurement, since I am late this month).

Still, my hair seems to be growing very fast this year, and I may reach 40" much sooner than I expected. Also, this is the first time I have needed to stand up to measure my hair.

28.75 :) I guess the extra half inch is just because I measured a bit late this month, but I'm still happy for it :D (I was 28" last month).

DBF says I have about a half inch to go before the very longest part of my hair is brushing waist. Woohoo!

26.25" for me. That's only a quarter inch in the past month and no growth the month before, so I'm going so slowly at the moment, I'm also shedding, so overall I'm finding it a bit frustrating.
