Hi all,

New here. Thanks to some tips from you guys I started looking around on the site for updo's and hairstyles. Then I got inspired by the posted Padme's battle updo (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=149) from Star Wars ep 1.

I was wondering, did any of you ever attempt to copy hairstyles from movies? I was browsing around and found this hairstyle (yup, from the same Star Wars movie). I wonder if such a thing is even possible with long hair.

So, what do you think? Personally, I love this one. I also like the hairstyles used in the Lord Of The Rings movie. So, did anyone try? If so, what did you do and what were the results?

Wow that looks really pretty! I'd love to have long enough hair to do something similar.

I opened a thread asking about a movie hairstyle, and one member recreated it beautifully. :)

Here it is: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=45125

These Star Wars pictures make me think of the ideal I have of how the hair of a greek goddess should look like!
@naereid: thanks! :) I should really try to make it cleaner...
@rusika1: wow, I loove that site! She has wonderful hair, and she is able to do really cool things!

I recently did a tutorial on Princess Leia's Battle of Endor 'do. I love trying to figure out movie 'dos and historical styles. I'm currently working on something pretty cool- I just can't get it to stay without product, which I don't use in my hair.

I did a couple of Regency do's by request last month, I think. They've been linked to from a few Jane Austen web sites. I find that awesome. It means I did them correctly. Yay!:cheese:

Somebody did on the hair style challenges thread. It looked pretty awesome.

ETA: TorrinPaige, that's awesome! I hope one day to be linked like that.

Oh my, yes. I love recreating movie hairstyles! (The website mentioned earlier, http://imaginary-styles.iwarp.com, is actually mine, though I haven't had the time to update it in a few years.) I think that's one of the coolest things about having long hair; we can do styles with our own hair that even the original actresses needed fake hair to do. It makes the character seem more real to me.

I like experimenting with the more unusual styles (like the Star Wars ones) because they're so creative, even if that means that I can't really wear them out. Sometimes folks email me asking how to do the more normal ones in non-scifi or non-fantasy movies, but I find them pretty boring to recreate by comparison.

Wow thanks everyone for the replies!

I just checked out your website Starfilly and it looks awesome. But I'm afraid I don't have enough hair for that. Your hair is practically twice as long as mine. But I sure know what I'm going to do when it gets at that length....
