Anyone want to have at it? I would love to see pics! I am going to give it a try using hair-friendly methods. I'd bet with lots of length, we could get some pretty big hair bows going!!! :)

If someone could do that without a hair piece I would be blown away! I bet it would look amazing.

Would it help to use rats or pipecleaners for structure?

Are you talking about this (http://www.zimbio.com/Hollywood+Hair/articles/-wnp49dHUh7/Lady+Gaga+Brings+Back+Hair+Bow+Stuns+Valentino) big one?

Or the smaller half up one here (http://glitzburgh.wordpress.com/2010/03/27/happy-24th-birthday-lady-gaga-see-you-in-pittsburgh-september-5th/)?

Either way, pretty fun hairstyles. I'm off to experiment...

I've done several of these in school but they all required teasing and hairspray. I'd be interested if anyone had a very smooth, stable way of doing this without the teasing and products.

Large ribbon updo tutorial is here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYn23fg-bO4).
Small ribbon updo tutorial is here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFTlx5z8Stk&feature=channel).

She does tease hair and uses hair spray. But in here first video, she says you don't need to backcomb if you want to keep the ribbon smaller.

She is excellent at using bobby pins, which I find difficult to secure updos than U-pins.

I saw girl's bow tutorials before. I'm pretty sure that backcombing and hair spray is not at all necessary, especially if your hair is really long.

(By the way, you're almost at 1000 posts!)

I think her instruction videos were introduced somewhere on this board. O, did I post this link before? I cannot remember. Yay, I am so close to 1000! :)

Now, those two look so much easier than Pursebuzz's And that little one is perfect for a lolita look. I'm gonna have to try that later and take pics.

I've actually made a couple of these with extension hair that comes on a weft and attached it to a clip and wore it like that ^_^ I could make a tutorial or take pictures of it if anyone is interested?

It's not *exactly* like hers, but it looks really cute! :)

I gave the small one a try today, not the best result since I had no hairspray or wax or anything in it:

I think I need a thinner scrunchie and some pins other than Amish pins, but I think it can be a pretty look if working on it a bit. Not as pretty from behind, though:

I did it!!! And in a hair-friendly way too:

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t296/coolbeansmellon/IMG_0393-1.jpg

I did it twice to be sure I could repeat it. Basically, I just made a top pony, split it in two, made a loop on one side and twisted the remaining hair around the pony base, and then I did the same on the other side going the opposite way. I pulled the remaining tail of the last loop over the middle and over the middle again.

Viola! Secured with hairsticks in back.

I've seen 2 people in person that have done this. There are some youtube vids on it as well. I have an attempt photo but it was an epic fail. Doesn't even look like a bow.
