And I was wondering what is the best way to keep the chlorine out of your hair?

I have heard of soaking in in condish and braiding, using a clarifyer and baking soda after, but that seems like it could really dry out my hair.

what do y'all do?

I am planning on spending alot of time in the water for physical therapy and whatnot both at home and at the PT center..

at least 6 or more hours a week and I am sure to get my hair wet

swimming cap and oiling should prevent chemicals in water from clinging to your hair :)

Here are a few threads that may be interesting to you as they regard swim styles and chlorine damage prevention! :flower:

This one (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=30993), this one (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=26621), and this one (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=21296).

I can't give personal experience with it as I haven't dunked my head in a pool in quite a long time. I can almost envision the tangles after! I would ponder about the extra oil/conditioner, although I'd also have to ponder about the pool filter. Hehe. Anything to keep my particularly porous hair from absorbing something I don't want absorbed!
