Hi all,
Thought I'd share a heat-free method that I've found for getting curly hair. It's really easy. I wash and condition my hair at night. Then, while it's still wet, I divide it into two pieces, as if I was going to make pigtails. I take one side and twist it. Keep twisting until it twists up on itself, becoming a tight little twisty bun/sausage behind/below my ear (I imagine if your hair is longer than mine (BSL) that you would end up with more of a sausage than a bun. The important part is that the ends end up twisted all the way back up to your head). The very ends are hard to twist, so I just wrap them around the base of the bun. Then I take an elastic and wrap it a couple of times around the base of the twist to secure it. Repeat on the other side. The whole thing takes about 2 minutes. I sleep on this, and because of the placement of the twists, I don't find that they bother me at all. In the morning, I take off the elastics, shake out my hair, and I have ringlets that last until the the next wash.

Thanks for sharing this information! It sounds interesting.... is your hair totally dry in the morning? I'd love to see some pics...please! (o:

Actually, no. My hair is thick so it's still a little damp in the morning. The curls relaxed a little as they dried, but they still kept that ringlet shape. I'm about to go wash my hair, so I'll take a picture in the morning.

Yes, I did the same thing a few weeks ago! :cheese: It works great!
I wait a bit longer until my hair is almost dry. Than make the buns/sausages high up on top of my head to be able to sleep better. Instead of elastic I used little clawclips to secure the sausages. I make about 4 buns because my hair is a bit longer.
I love the curls when you unwrap the buns in the morning.
I'm looking forward to see your curls!

Sounds cute! Would you just finger comb or use a comb to separate them? New to waves and curls :o)

OKay -- I just look my hair down. I think I should have let it dry a bit before twisting it, as it is still damp. But here's the pics. Here is is twisted up (notice that I also added some twists in the upper hair:

And here it is after I took it down:

I think I would get curlier results if my hair were to completely dry in the twists, but I'm impatient!
