How long should protein tretments be left on one's hair?

Lately my hair feels a little like it finally needs some protein. I have Joico K-PAc at hand so I plan to use it. But it says on the bottle to only leave it on for 3 minutes. That seems so little! How long do you leave such treatments in?

My stylist leaves the same product on my hair for 15-20 minutes and puts me under the bonnet dryer for heat.

If it feels crunchy afterward, follow with a moisturizing treatment, although I think KPak is formulated for both protein and moisture. My hair sucks it down and shines like fiber-optics afterwards.

I plan to use moisturising tretment after anyway. That doesn't undo the protein tretment does it?

No, a moisture treatment after protein will not undo the protein.

I leave mine on for 20 - 30 min. Is there some reason the product you have says to leave it on for so short a time? I use something different. :)
