Hello Everyone! I can hardly believe my first anniversary already past and I’m 6 mos. late. Before I found the LHC I went threw my year of dye and bleach. Before 2007 my hair was 100% virgin than it was blonde, dark brown, ash brown, red, orange, greenish gray, black and lets not forget bleaching the black out not once but twice in four sessions. Yeah I really do not know what I was thinking at the time. The only good thing about my past routine was no heat. I always hated using heat tool on my hair the only time I have let heat touched my hair since was for my wedding (October 2009).

Here is about where I started
July 2008

The dye is fading (slowly) and gained a few inches I believe.

March 2009

Dye is still fading gained about three to four inches total.

My hair seems to get waver the longer it gets.

I’m calling it BSL cause it really depends on what bra I am wearing.

Things I learned this year:
S&D
Coconut Oil
Oiling
Wearing hair up at night is a no no for me. It causes my hair to break at the temples.
Stretching washes (got to once a week and fell off after the big move in March)
Clarifying with baking soda
AVC
CO

I really want to thank everyone for posting their tips and tricks. I really could not have done it myself without the LHC or my DH.

I have only had one trim since I joined and it was back in November. I know I should be about waist this time next year. :crosses fingers: However I am currently debating if I should trim and inch or two off. Opinions please!

Your hemline looks great to me, but if it's bothering you and causing tangles, it may be a good idea. From your pics it doesn't appear to be a problem at all. It's your hair and you have to live with it everyday, though. And yay for your great progress! Thanks so much for sharing :)

Your hair is lovely! It's come a long way, hasn't it? And I love the swirly faces. I got rather distracted looking at them, when I should have been looking at your hair!

Your hair is so pretty! I love the waves and the color. And it's gotten very long.:cheese:

It doesn't look like it needs a trim to me...it looks very healthy. But if you feel you need one I would get just the very ends taken off.

Wow, that is amazing progress! Your hair grows FAST. I think your hair looks great, I'd only trim it if it felt rough with that kind of shine.

Wow--great progress and lovely hair! Congrats on finding LHC and sticking to your goal to grow long...it looks really great!

I agree that all you should need is a microtrim if anything. Might make your ends feel a bit "fresher" without setting you back any.

I really love the waviness and the color.

Good luck with the next year - I say, grow, grow, grow!

Wow your hair grows quickly! I don't see any need to trim, but I think even if you did trim, you'd be able to make it to waist in a year :flower:

I also had to say, I have that same blue Zoo York sweatshirt, lol.

What wonderful progress! Congratulations on your 1.5 :)

Your hair looks wonderful -- I love the timeline of photos. As for the trim, only do it if you feel you need it. What would all of those people at hair salons who advise monthly trims say about your length gain? :p
