I dont get out much to spot lovely long hair in public, so Iv become an avid spotter on Tv and the Movies.

Daniel Day Lewis in the Last of the Mohicans, well that just sends my knees to jelly, especially when he runs through the column of people.

His sister Tamsin (shes a cook on UK TV), has amazing hair as well. Theres lot of pictures of her if you google her name.

Teri Ryan as Seven of Nine in Star Trek Voyager (STV), wears this amazing french roll type updo, I cant see any pins, totally amazing.

Kate Mulgrew as the Captain in STV has an amazing Gibson type updo in the first couple of series. Gonna start drewling soon!!

Id love to hear your long hair sightings!

What a lovely colour she has too.

Captain Janeway is totally my childhood hero! :cheese: Learning how to do her early hairstyle has been on my to-do list for a long time.

Evanna is insanely lovely, but I can't help thinking there's something strange about her hair. Like it's bleached too much or it's really extensions or something...

The latest great TV hair I noticed is Karen Gillan, the new companion on Doctor Who. Her hair is only BSL, but still. It's red and when things get dangerous she pulls it back in a sweet bun. I think that's very, very awesome.

Ah that's nice.:D I don't watch many TV series shows but do love the flicks. Everybody in LOTR had amazing hair. Ditto Dances With Wolves. And if you liked Daniel Day Lewis's hair in The Last of the Mohicans, what about Jodi May's hair in the same film?

I just saw Natalie Portman in "Where the Heart Is". That was a cute movie. She had long hair at the beginning of the movie. Also, I saw (the recent version of) Last of the Mohicans a few days ago and there were countless both men and women with beautiful hair. That was great.

Evanna Lynch. I love her hair! It just suits her so well and she's so pretty. And my friend knows her sister really well so she just seems normal to me, not really like a celebrity :)

I can't think of her name IRL, but Zoe from Firefly.

I know, I know--the quoting of pictures is frowned upon. But this one was back a page, and I wanted to refer to it specifically.

SO, who can dissect this style and recreate it? It looks like a kind of double loop secured with pins. Maybe a loop made with part of the hair and then the other part French twisted around it?

The female Captain (Lockley I think her name was?) on Babylon 5 in the last season wears some nice twists and topsy tails throughout the season. I can't find a single picture of her from behind.

Plus,
Anyone know what film or program these clips are from?

TheStorm: I don't know where your picture is from, but if it helps, the actress is called Beverley Mitchell and is most known for her role on 7th Heaven. Could be from a Halloween episode of that show... or, uh, from somewhere else entirely.

I was having problems getting it higher so you can see the lower twist. If you split like a half up pony and twist the bottom then add the top. I have about an inch or three passed BSL so I assume for the show they do about the same. One took like three or four pins total.

Amanda Righetti is my current TV haircrush:

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_zJHHEVyXkNo/SW1jH5HomaI/AAAAAAAAABs/b5E8Wv_6PY0/Amanda+Righetti+wearing+Henderson+Design+Pearl.JPG

She's the main reason I watch "The Mentalist" - well, that and the fact that it's set in my hometown* ;) Sometimes I'm a little sad/hairrogant about all the flat-ironing I assume must be happening, but that is still a knockout head of hair. I also like how they show her throwing it into a quick ponytail when she has to chase a bad guy or something.

*I wonder sometimes about their research, though. The exterior of their "office building" is in the tourist-trap part of town, not the government-offices part. And they don't always nail the "characters" of the cities where the mysteries take place, as in the especially memorable episode where they busted a prostitution ring in the oh-so-politically-correct university town up the road. That's totally not where that would happen, sorry.

Last night the Antiques Roadshow was featuring the "Best of the Best", little snippets of past shows that had one of a kind antiques/objet's d'art...and in one of the segments, in the background. was a lady with lovely tailbone hair clipped back in a barrette. Her hair was a lovely pale blonde and had braid waves. It happened so fast that I didn't catch which segment..but it was a lovely sight!

Ha! I've been wondering where I could mention all the awesome long hair in the sadly short lived but highly entertaining science fiction series, Farscape, from the Jim Henson Company.

Aeryn Sun goes from longer than shoulder length to probably longer than tailbone length and then a bit back to waistlength through out the series' run. It looks really great and so healthy when it's at her natural length.

Jool has waist length hair that turns different shades of reds and oranges depending on her level of fright or stress or something. It also sheds all over the place.

Sikozu is another red head with awesome hair that she wears on occassion in small knots over her whole head. She'll take them down and her hair will be in these great spirals.

Through out the series are aliens they encounter with some great long hair.

I have really been loving the hair on 'Boardwalk Empire' , especially Kelly Mac Donald's hair. The era is late teens and very early 20's so far ,so the hair is sort of exactly how i'd like mine, at least waist length with a shorter layer in front to faux bob.
Other than that , the chick from Vampire Diaries does have really nice healthy looking hair .
Sadly most long hair i see on Television looks appears to be obvious extensions and kind of weird looking.

I forgot Morena Baccarin from Firefly. She had it is curly most of the time but there was like one or two eps. that she straightened it. Sadly she cut off her hair :(.

On the note of flat ironing I felt so sad watching Nina Dobrev flat iron her hair on vampire diaries. Since she plays two characters and always has straight and one always has hollywood curly hair. So all the hair frying makes me so sad.

Yesterday I watched a Bollywood movie on YouTube called Vivah, the female main character had lovely hair - although in some scenes it was just BSL - mid-back and then a few scenes later she had a braid reaching her tailbone. Oh well :D

The girls on over the rainbow (on bbc) all had such pretty hair. Phillippa, Camille, DANIELLE, Stephanie, Tegan, Laren and DANI. I love that Dani rocked the natural curls and Danielle has been as of late too. I think she has realized the damage all the heating and curling was doing.

I watched a lot of that series but I can't remember anything about her hair. :cheese: I think hair that bugs me in films makes more of an impression on me. in 2005 Gwyneth Paltro was in a film called Proof and I think they use her hair length to show that she is getting more crazy as time goes by, which bugged me.

I've been watching reruns of All in the Family lately (my 10yo DS is loving this classic comedy, and it gives us lots of opportunities for discussions about racism, discrimination, etc.), and I'm always amazed at how differently I remember Gloria's hair on that show.

In my memories from the '70s, she had beautiful long straight blonde hair. Looking at her hair now, it was really only BSL at its longest, and it was FRIZZED OUT. I'm guessing that she was probably about a 3a, but they usually brushed it all "straight" for the show. She did occasionally wear really pretty updos, either for "doing housework" or for "going out to someplace fancy".

I second the mention of Inara from Firefly. Kaylee from the same show also had nice hair, which she wore in adorable braided buns in the first episode.

My daughter and I watched Fly Away Home the other day and I noticed that Anna Paquin had pretty hair in that. The dad had longish hair, and one of the dad's friends had a ponytail.

It's only bra strap length but I really really love Jessica's hair in True Blood such a lovely colour!

Also I recently watched Coco Avant Channel the French biopic of Coco Channel starring Audrey Tatou, and for the first half of the film she wears a wonderful wig that goes to her knees and is often worn down.

There were some reasonably longhaired dancers in The Two Ronnies episode I caught yesterday. Also Maria in 'Allo 'Allo, who seemed to have about BSL hair (okay not exactly *long* but longer than those around her). Helga always wore milkmaid braids (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/q7JwW48KaCNPaPFAQgLhm0HghQahuNKio-tuPwCPM5wtkNRMWL03EhIviMS4eRoWK-WmHYB0cfs0r7RkG2jw5-m4yAc9-GpnpPilfDR6-cDE5P4UpegJ410-n8qo6GU) but I'm not sure if it was her hair or a wig. The pilot episode of The IT Crowd (British comedy series) has a woman with long, blonde hair. Not a main character but a few shots of her.
