I've started researching the SMT treatments, and began reading this thread: http://archive.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=14635

Near the beginning, it mentions this:

"For an added treat, if your hair likes oils, you may want to try Ursula's Mega-Moisturizing Oil/SMT/Aloe wash (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=28277)(MMW). It is a great way to use SMT as a cleaning method. "

But when I click on that link, it seems to be about advice for hairdos for a wedding. Does anyone have a better link to Ursula's method?

Thanks!

2nd question on the SMT thread.... since it'll take me a while to read thru the whole thing....

Can you make a large batch of it & store to use later? Or do the ingredients make any sort of odd/bad reaction if stored for a long time?

Oh, and 3rd question: it says you can use aloe straight from the plant. My mom has a TON of aloe plants..... what is the best technique to collect aloe fresh from the plant?

Thanks so much for any advice!

Ooh, I just got an aloe plant, I may have to harvest some aloe! :D I've only used aloe from plants on burns, and I just break off a healthy-looking tip and squeeze the juice on my burn. I'm sure someone else knows a better method!

Yeah, my mom started with one aloe plant, but it made LOTS of babies that she repotted, and they're all over her kitchen now. The original one we call "Big Mama". :)

I've only used it for burns & cuts, too, so far. I cut off an end, peel it open & get at the gel that way. Sometimes I put an actual piece of it under a band-aid for a while, to hold it against the "boo boo".

I wondered if there is a technique for getting large quantities of the gel.... I wonder if boiling it would do anything.....
