I have heard splits travel up if you don't cut them off. Since I have F hair I'm supposedly more likely to get breakage than splits. But does breakage also travel up if the breaking hairs are not cut in time?

I would think that a broken end would be more likely to split and then, if not snipped, travel up the hair.

If it's a clean break of an otherwise undamaged hair I wouldn't think the damage would travel up. Good question though. S&D may be the best way to approach this problem. :)

Oh I have S&D ONE hair today. It was hard to find it-sofar. I never had any splits in my life. I suspect it is because my hair is too fine to be able for strands to split. So basically, if the broken hair won't split, breakage won't travel up?

Back when I was a youngster, my damage traveled up. But my damage stays on the ends now because I use so much coconut oil. Yes, I need to trim but the damage is not increasing.
