Dye Suggestions To Go Over BAQ Henna?

Hi all!

I like my henna, but I'm considering coloring over it with a layer of similarly-colored-but-ashier brown to pull some of the red from it and then switching to a cycle of dye and cassia.

Do any of you fine people have a suggestion for a dye to use that will not damage my slow-growing length? I've heard names like Robert Craig tossed around here, but I don't know what all of my options are in the "coloring without frying" category.

Semi and demi permanent dyes are pretty easy on your hair... I'm actually going to try dyeing over my deep cherry red henna with a brown in a few weeks because I'm growing the henna out. Sally Beauty Supply has a great selection, and I recently went to a generic beauty supply (something like, "King's Beauty") and they had a fairly large (and inexpensive) selection of temporary, semi and demi permanent dyes.
