Hi everyone - I hope this post is okay, it's a hairtyping request :o because I've been posting for about a month but I'm still not entirely sure what I am. My guess is 2c but I'm confused by the loose stretched out looking waves in other places. Is it is possible to be a 2c and have those? Or am I misunderstanding what a spiral curl is and am I more of a 3a? Just wondered if you lovely people could give me some opinions. Thanks in advance :)

Here's the picture, taken after washing and with minimal touching of my hair:

Oh yes you can definitely have more than one hair type. I would say you are a 2c-3a.

Agreed. Looks like 2c toward the front and 3a in the back. I am sooooooo envious of your little spirals in the back...

I would say you are 3a, because if you look at the Visual Hairtyping Guide: http://homepage.mac.com/annsofie.henriksson/hairtyping/PhotoAlbum22.html you seem to be more curly than wavy. You could probably easily encourage more or less spirals, depending on how you treat your hair.

I would say 2c. It seems to fit the description of "waves with some spiral curls." :)

Thanks so much for your opinons! I'm going to change my profile to say I'm a 2c/3a, since it seems to be on the borderline between the two.
