I am looking for ideas of buns or updos that do not leave kinks or waves. Alot of times I like to wear my hair in a braid, but if I have something planned and know that I will be wearing my hair loose later then I would like a way to fix my hair so when I let it down it is mostly straight. Any suggestions would be much appreciated !

Can't vouch for this one, but it seems to be what you are looking for:

I can vouch for Hypnotica's suggestion. Lazy wrap never leaves and waves or kinks in my hair. On my waves it actually straightens them out a bit...

I'd suggest the Lazy Wrap Bun too. It's the only bun that leaves my hair straight. Plus it's very easy to do.

I'd advise the lazy wrap too. Sometimes it'll leave a very slight very loose wave so I don't have poker straight hair but it's still straight just with a bit more body so looks fab.

Speaking of the lazy wrap... I've been trying to do it for a couple of days now, but it always turns out rather loose. I follow the instructions carefully, over the thumb and under the finger and through both holes... yet it still falls apart when I shake my head as a test. Any advice? :hmm:

The lazy wrap is one bun I have not been able to do yet. Will have to practice some. I have a hard time with sticks, am better with clips and bobby pins.

Here is the vid where I learned to do the LWB. I have it mastered my second time. It is in German, but all you have to do is watch. The way I put my stick in is a little different too. I put in through the first loop around my index finger like she does, but the I also put it fully through the loop made with my thumb as well. It holds allot better, and looks really pretty too!
LWB has become my go to style. It takes me all of 20 seconds and always looks so elegant, dispite the fact it takes seconds

And mine comes out a little turned as well. so that the loops I put the stick through are on a diagonal, Looks really pretty!

I find that the lazy wrap does leave waves in my hair, but they're much prettier waves than with other buns! So even if it does wave your hair up a bit, you might like the effect.

What about a regular sock bun?
Do you get bun waves bunning on wet and or dry hair? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. Normally I braid, or wear in a ponytail or loose.
