This afternoon I was bored and stuck home (it was snowing outside, and there was nowhere I could go), so I started playing with my hair. I wanted to practise some buns, and try to add some accents/visual appeal, without braid or hairtoys (my hair holds the braid-waves really well, so when I take out accent braid it looks really weird; and sadly I don't have many hairtoys... just one fork, two repurposed chopsticks, and some pins and elastics).

And then, this happened:

(that's the same, but looking up so you can better see how it looks, and not only my dying ends)

It's just a half-up topsie tail with the rest of the hair through and hanging loose, hiding the elastic. I pretended to bun my hair afterwards (that was the original purpose) but liked it a lot this way and left it. Now it's been several hours on my hair and still stays with no problems.

I thought it was a nice alternative to a simple pony, or half-up pony, and doesn't take much time (also, I'm sure it might look good if bunned afterwards, as it's just some variation of Neoma's trick to add a bit of lift to the crown), so I thought I'd share.

How pretty. I love your braid waves.

I love that "do". I always were my hair like that when I work at Ren Fair.

Nice! i'm a bit slow, so it took me a while to figure out that you had threaded your hair up,, through, and over the topsy hole. But I like the way it turned out! I want to try this, because my hair is still shoulder length, and i don't like that when I use the topsy tail it kind of pushes the tail end up against my neck.
