Well, actually I am two weeks early :p but I was like a kid at Christmas...
I joined LHC when I decided to grow my hair long. Throughout my adult life I was convinced I could not have long hair. I had cut it when I was about 12 and since then was only able to have it almost at BSL.
I thought my hair was too fine and I usually had splits and then would cut.
As a child, I was able to have waist length hair but I cannot remember anyone ever taking care of it....and I played in the ocean a lot. I think my hair became unhealthy due to mistreatment.
My secret dream has always been to have at least waist length hair and when I found this place I felt that the dream could become reality.
I tried many things...maybe even everything...
I went through a big shed in the fall which I feel is hormonal.
My hair circ. was 2 1/2 when I joined...went to 2 3/4 over the summer and then is now at 2 1/4 and has maintained there.
The first 8 months, I did microtrims monthly...partly to get rid of a lot of layers, a v cut, to thicken my hemline and to prevent splits.
I must say my hair is very healthy...no splits but I must have lost 3 inches in the process. Now I microtrim every two months....I think I am addicted to self trims....not good. So I think I am going to try to stop and go at least 4 months...(anyone wants to help me stay accountable?).

When straightened my hair is full BSL...when dry it is a tad above BSL.
