Hi :)

I have just started trying oil on my hair and started with jojoba. My hair is usually a 2a but with the oil my ends especially have gone really wavy with almost rignlets forming. How cool is that! Does anyone else get curls with oil? Why do you think it is? I am wondering if cones/SLS etc play a part in subduing curls too...any thoughts on that? Experiences? :)

interesting... I have never tried jojoba oil as a leave-in really. I have used Camellia Oil and Argan oil but they do not make my hair wavy.

coconut oil defines my curls, but i dont think it makes more of them, it just says, "oh, look! i found curly bits in your frizz! here, let me show you!"

Ojon (mostly palm oil) makes my hair develop strong S waves almost immediately, but Camellia oil so far hasn't made my hair go one way or the other. (I've got some "Argan" oil but reading the ingredients it's mostly 'cones so it makes my hair go stick straight. I'd love to try real Argan oil some time! Gotta use up the bottle of 'coney stuff first though.)

Hmmm...I have interesting hair then! Well, on my mum's side of the family the women have curly or wavy hair, so I suppose it's not that surprising...my hair has formed ringlets when its been raining, but that's quite rare really, its usually a 2a type wave.

I love jojoba too, PearlyCurly :D

About a month ago, I tried sweet almond oil and it made my ends curl up pretty seriously! Jojoba has less of a curling effect for me, but it does give my ends a more flippy look. Thanks for bringing this up; it's interesting that this isn’t just a personal phenomena of mine :)

I just love jojoba oil! It absorbs so quickly and smooths fly-aways (new-growth antennae) so well. But, for real curl 'discovery' and definition, nothing has worked as well for me as a few drops (literally, "drops"! the stuff is thick and gooey!) of castor oil blended into a generous palm of pure aloe vera gel. For 'third-day' hair (the absolute limit before a conditioner wash), I can repeat this - but using aloe vera JUICE, instead of gel - with a single glop/drop of castor oil for perfect hair. It's just too bad that the best hair is always on the last day, before it all begins again! :-(

I really love jojoba oil to make my frizz well, less frizzier(?) :p, but I don't get curls from it. Maybe because my hair is 1b and yours already has some waves.

Hrmmmm. I need to try this. I've found that I can't leave very many oils in my hair, as it gets crunchy. I have naturally wavy hair that always falls flat, so I've been on a long-term quest to find something I can leave in my hair that defines my waves. Still looking.

Interesting, Ojon doesn't make my hair curly, then again I've never tried it as a leave-in only as a heavy overnight treatment.

You simply must try real Argan Oil, it's divine!
