Long hair with all over layers?

Okay so i'm at work right now and dont have the most current pictures of the back of my head, they are on my camera at home.

If you look at my first picture in my siggy you will see the basic idea of my hair shape (sorry bad lighting, pictures on the camera have better lighting so i will update when i get home).

I'm planning on growing to waist length, and i know that i dont want a blunt hem. I'm not sure if i want a U shape or a V shape yet. But i'm pretty sure mines a V now and i think i might keep it.

So my hair is very layered, which i like, but does that work for longer legnths that i want to grow too? I mean i feel like everyone i see on here with straight hair only have layers on the edges of their hair but not in the middle.

Does anyone have pictures of what waist length with all over layers looks like? i'm having a hard time picturing it in my head and i i'm only finding face shots on the web, when i want to see the back of heads!

I think with layers i would want to keep the shortest around BSL down to waist... But will that make a deep V?

My hair wet. http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=2057&pictureid=64470

Dry, but i think this was up at some point hence more wavy to the hair.http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=2057&pictureid=64472

I have layers cut in my BSL hair, the shortest of which being one layer of shoulder length hair. Now I'm at BSL I'm a bit sick of my layers, the longer my hair gets the more "weight" there is to it, and I feel like I want the extra volume that I'm missing out on by not having the extra length of the layers.

I think your hem line could still be cut into a U or V, the layers shouldn't matter about the hemline.

See i think my hair when it's all one length (be it a U or V shape) looks bushy. So that's why i like the layers. I'm kind of in the same boat hair wise. I'm almost BSL now with my shortest layer above shoulder.

Does anyone know how to trim hair like mine, as in me doing it themselves? I was playing around with Feye's methods but using the V or U shape directions doesn seem like it's going to get all my ends all the way up to the shoulder (the layers ont he edges not the layers in the middle) Or is that not what her directions are for, but just for trimming the ends only?

Here's my heavily layered "v-cut" tapered hair at a bit past hip.

FWIW, I still like the layers.
Even though I do have outrageous braid taper, and my cinnabuns are fuzzy.
The "no-twist" buns all work just fine for me, like nautilus, pretzel, and lazywrap.

Until yesterday, my hair looked like this:

I cut it back to BSL though - I was not as in love with long hair as I thought I'd be. I do still love LHC though!

kittensoupnrice, you have gorgeous hair!!!!
I think the layers on a "v-cut" is the best way to go for, it looks really natural to me.:p

I'm about two inches from waist and I have a lot of layers. I'm planning on trimming the longest layers when I get to waist until I have most of them the same length. I'll keep some, but I want to have a thicker hemline.

I have a lot of layers at almost tb and I love them. I will see if I can get a decent picture of them later. I have a V hemline, but I am hoping to round it out to a U while still keeping the layers. I trimmed some of the thinner layers off, to make my braids look less fuzzy, but now I don't like my hemline quite as much when I wear it down.

This is not the best view of my layers, but my son would not hold still any longer. He HATES taking photos of my hair.

Now that you say it i guess a V does seem more natural... When i got my first cut after a year of growing out from a bob, they lady only refreshed my layers, which were from natural growing.

see that's what i'm wondering about...I guess i wont know till i get there.
