Hi, I am just curious if anyone has used cleansing cream as shampoo, or as shampoo/conditioner in one. I'm trying to stick to using more natural products on my hair, and I'm also lazy , so was hoping to find an all-in-one product for my hair. It's wavy, fine, color treated (not for a few months though), with dry ends and somewhat oily scalp. I was looking at Etsy.com and am very tempted to try some products. In particular: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29424829&ref=sr_gallery_2&&ga_search_query=cleansing+cream&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title

I am just curious if anyone has tried this, or anything similar. I would love to cut down on my products!

I will be following this thread. I have always wondered, too, if body wash would be gentler on the scalp than shampoo. Not sure about the PH in them though.

There are some really gentle shampoo bars out there, but then you do have to use a vinegar rinse after. Maybe a dilute shampoo that you could also use as a bodywash? Or you could try CO washing!

I suppose I am no help because I haven't used homemade cleansing creams for hair, but I used Jessicurl's cleansing cream until the began adding hydrolyzed oat flour. It was amazing stuff, kept my hair very hydrated while keeping it grease-free. :p

I'm not sure, but isn't WEN a cleansing cream? An expensive one!!!

WEN is a cleansing conditioner, and yes, an expensive one :). I've used it before but it contains menthol, which I didn't like. Plus, their instructions say to use a ton of product to cleanse, which is a waste!

I can't remember if I read about this here, or elsewhere, but...

Supposed to be a Wen dupe.

I've started occasionally using Shea Shower Cream from Bodyshop on my hair. It feels so creamy and moisturising on my skin (and hardly lathers at all, which I love) that I decided to give it a go on my hair.

There's SLS in it, which tends to dry out my hair, but in the ingredients it's listed after sunflower seed oil, so there's more oil in it than SLS, plus there's shea butter (of course) and sesame oil in it. So it doesn't seem drying to me... but I don't use much, and I dilute it a bit with water. I don't know if it would be drying if I used more, undiluted. I should try it sometime.

It kinda smells like some kind of cologne, though... kinda musky. So I smell a bit like a guy every time I use it, lol.

It's not a cream, but I know that Dr. Bronner's soaps can be used for loads of things: brushing your teeth, washing your face/hair, general housecleanings, etc.
