This weekend I found this cool little comb at a local thrift shop. My question :shrug:is how do I wear it? I was thinking that it might work for a french twist, or a cute little poof on top of your head-sort of like the girls wore in the early 60's? Am I way off here? Any other ideas? Here are some pics. Oops, I just noticed you can see where the price is still marked on it.:o

Perhaps as a headband or a decorative touch to a bun?

Hmm, this reminds me of those hair cut combs. You know to push down the hair evenly so you can cut it to a nice even bob. Of course It might be something to push your bangs back as well.

That does look strange. The curve looks very pronounced, so if it's not to be worn as a headband, I'm at a loss

My grandmother wore a long bob after she stopped perming her thick hair due to sensitivities. She wore that kind of combs (in less bright colours :)) to keep back her her from her face, a little bit as a headband. She pulled back the hair above/around her face and inserted the comb with the tines towards her face. It held her thick hair comfortable without giving it a very slicked back look, the front hair usually poofed up a bit, making the look softer.

That is what I was thinking too.

I will play around with it this weekend & see what I can come up with. Thanks for your in put.:)

You might try checking with Peggy E, the Queen of Combs.

I was also thinking it might be worn as a headband in the middle of the top of your head for a no bangs look. It also looks like it will add a bit of oomph to the crown by holding the bulk of more frontal hair back. If that made sense! LOL By the way; I like it!

How about a gibson tuck?

How about a gibson tuck?

This is a great way to wear that comb. It's designed to be worn with the low-nape styles, too - an infinity bun, for instance, will work well with this comb.

I have several of these "bandeau" style combs and my favorite style for them is the braided topsy bun, which I elongate and then secure with the comb. I think I have some pics somewhere and will send one.

They don't work on the french twist because the curve is usually too pronounced for that section of the head (MY head, anyway!).

It's a beautiful comb - and great price! ;o)

Took a while to find this, and it's not the best example, but it does happen to be one of my absolute favorite combs. Gives you a bit of an idea how to wear your comb, if you are so inclined:

wow.thats a neat comb..be sure to post some action shots so if one of us stumble upon one-we can get ideas LOL

I'm thinking it should be good to secure bigger buns with..or like others have said as well, the gibson tuck.
which I have yet to master.....
