What did I do wrong?

I did a braided chinese bun with my hair yesterday for my cousins funeral, and it looked great. I loved it. About 2 hours in, and my hair was a frizzy mess. It wasn't even very warm in the funeral home, either! I even used some EVOO on my hair before and after I braided it. What gives???

Glad the bun looked nice though. I can't do a chinese bun very well.

Who knows? Hair can be weird. If I want to be absolutely sure that I don't end up with a head full of frizzies, I take time to stroke down the surface of my hair with styling putty. Yes, it looks unnatural - which is exactly the point. It's quite natural to have a halo of shorter hairs, but most of us would rather not.

It happens :shrug: You could dampen your hands with water and smooth your hair down.
