Dry spots

My hair is normally pretty dry to begin with, but for a while now I've been struggling with getting rid of this patch of hair that is just extremely dry and rough at the ends. It's in the very front of my right side where I have lots of crazy layering. It's been a little better since I've started S&D, but it's still bad and I feel like if I don't get rid of the dryness the layers will never grow out, or they will take way longer to.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem, and what they did about it. I've been trying some leave in condish a few days a week, but it leaves my hair greasy and still feeling dry.

I had this problem for ages! It was one patch at the very back of my head. It used to drive me insane. It slowly went away once I gave up heat styling, and cut down on how often I wash my hair. Now its totally gone.
