WOW! :thud:Absolutely stunning!

Are those twists? I loooove this.

I think wiggle-bun is entirely appropriate and fun!

The rattlesnake bun?
Or 'The Rattler'?

I think Wiggle Bun is good. Little "wiggles" make up the whole bun.

Oh, that looks absolutely great! It's not only a wiggle-bun but a wiggle-wriggle-bun :p
For a moment I really read "wiggle-bum"

The Medusa! The twists are like lil snakes (in a nice way).

I can't view livejournal at work because LJ is banned. ("Pure evil!" they say. "It shall be condemned from our network! Bannished to roam the dark corners of the Internet, alone and unviewed by innocent eyes of our employees!")

But for some reason, I'm really itching to see this!! Anything that someone wants to call a wiggle-bun has got to be cute.

(For the record, I don't think LJ is evil - I even have an acct on there.)

Oh, I did something like this for a dance, my friend commented that it looked "noodle-y" haha :D
It was somewhat easy to do , and it looks really cool.

Anything but the wiggle bun! My son is obsessed with the Wiggles right now *cowers*

I like the Medusa bun for a name. Plus we need instructions about now. :D:D

That is amazing! I love it and can't wait to try it on myself.

I'm thinking Medusa Bun or Serpent Bun

Ohh, Medusa and Serpent both sound great! How did you do this bun? :D

That's very cool especially with your color! I've done that on a few of my friends and it can sometimes get a little time consuming for me. Haha. Patience is the key! I'd potentially go for the "Medusa," except that name makes me envision things sticking out instead of coiled up like that. I guess if the snakes are coiled... The "Sleeping Medusa" maybe?

Very pretty! I love your haircolor too!

Oooooo...thats just lovely. I'm viting for Serpent bun since it has the look of a handful of coiled sleeping serpents. Did you make a ponytail, divide it into sections and twist each section until it twisted back upon itself?

Absolutely gorgeous!!! It looks like it was a ton of work, but it was worth it.

I propose Serpentine Bun.

While I like "Wiggly," it doesn't look all that wiggly to me. I also love "Medusa," but with that name, I picture hair flowing out in all directions. "Serpentine" means "winding and twisting like a snake," and that's what it looks like to me (in a GOOD way, of course!!!). :smirk:

Okay, I'm changing my mind after reading all the great suggestions. I vote for either Medusa or Noodle.

Are you planning to share your technique? I think this is very elegant and yet fun at the same time!

I like "Sleeping Medusa". Medusa was a Gorgon, maybe you could call it the Gorgon Rose Bun?

Hey BritishBraider, that looks very cool, especially with your red hair!
I'm also with the names of Medusa as previously stated.
here are just some ideas:

Spiral of Snakes
Sea of Serpents
Bun of Rose (your name)
Medusa's Lair
Wiggle Worth
Venom of Venus (snake related and sounds cool LOL)
Nest of Adder(s) (viper snakes)

Hope some of these help! :o

I used to do this all the time when my hair was BSL! And that's exactly how I did it.

I used to call it the noodle bun, but the Medusa bun sounds way better!:D

Have done a brief video on how I did it, (on my very patient sister)

I learned this bun in beauty school, and it's one of my favourites. I think the one I learned was a little different, though. Either way, I love it!

Serpentine Medusa Wiggle Bun!! LOL!! -- you got in all of our suggestions!

This is an excellent video -- and the ending is so cute. It actually seems easier to do than it looks. In theory, I think even I could do it, and I'm all thumbs. It would be a great updo for a fancy party. Thanks, BritishBraider!

My sisters and I have done this for years......we call it the CAN OF WORMS. ha ha! My sister had me do her hair half up, with the Can of Worms bun for her wedding, it was gorgeous!

Good luck with whatever you choose!

That's a hilarious name for it. Ooooo, a wedding updo -- it would be perfect for that!! I bet your sister's hair looked so romantic (despite the bun name!).

BritishBraider, be sure to thank your very patient and cute sister:puppykisses: for allowing you to show us how this gorgeous bun is done (I'm a poet and don't know it; make a rhyme every time;)). And a great big thank you to you also for doing the bun in a video for us!:flowers: I'm planning to try it for a party on Saturday night. I'll be sure to post pics if it turns out.

This was my first attempt, without enough long hairpins to really hold it.

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=1620&pictureid=63786

I've since tightened it up and added sparkley crystal hairpins as decorative accents. It was a big hit at work today. :) My arms were killing me by the end and I didn't even do that many individual locks because I was in a hurry.

That kind of looks like the bun Padme Amidala had on Geonosis in "Attack of the Clones"

Except hers poked out more

And she had to use a fake hair piece and foam tubes

Here's my effort. Not as elegant as yours, BritishBraider, but fun all the same. I was the *prom queen* at a mystery party. :rollin:Hence the tiara. Sorry for the one being blurry.
