I did cornrow braids! Check them out!(some pics)

I couldn't sleep last night, so I put my restlessness to good use. I mastered cornrow braiding! I did it on my mannequin of course, again I'm much better at doing these styles on someone else's head, its just impossible for me to do them on myself as neatly and evenly.

They look great! I can't do any braiding besides regular 3 strand, and even then they look funny. :) You should see my daughter when I practice on her. Practice makes perfect though... You have awesome hair BTW.

Beets and Jaime, thank you both for understanding! :flower: :flower: Its extremely difficult to do cornrow braids in it and of itself. You have to hold each section very tightly and not let go at any time, and you also have to make sure you're adding in an even amount of hair to each section as you braid down the head. Otherwise, you'll end up with a braid that has one or two sections that are bigger than the other!

Wow those look great! I taught myself to french braid by first practicing on a mannequin head myself, so you never know what you may eventually be able to accomplish with your own hair.

Also, if you didn't know, you can resize pictures in a jiffy (assuming that you have Microsoft Paint) by opening the pictures in that program and going to Image -> Stretch/Skew (or Resize on the new version) and typing smaller percentages in the boxes. I use it all the time.

If that was a real head, those would be the most awesome cornrows ever! I can get three on the right side of my head before my skills run out and the braids look absolutely terrible....But I bet if your skills are that good on the mannequin, by practicing little by little on your own hair you could get at least all of them but the very back done!

Those are some neat braids! I have never had cornrows in my hair, but I figured they would take too long for my mother to do, since beyond an English braid and rope braid I can't do anything with my hair lol.
