I was browsing the net for medium length hairstyles and came across this:

http://imgur.com/2aPFY.jpg

Not a medium length hairstyle, but i think it looks really cool :D According to the info:
The braids were created by sectioning the hair in small areas from ear to ear across the crown. The hair was then wrapped in the thread and the hair that was left at the end of the thread column was then braided.

The ends of each braided section was connected to each other to form a long braided column at the top of the wrapped sections. The wrapped braids were started at the very front of the crown and ended at the nape of the neck. Leftover hair at the nape of the neck was braided and looped.

What do you think?

That OWNS, even the war paint! It reminds me of a plume on a Centurion helmet! You now I'm gonna have to try this one out, the next time I mow the yard wit the chariot! :rockerdud The war paint is a must as well! ;)

oh my, if you succeed at it, post some photos and pm me!!! :D i'd have tried it already if my hair was a tad longer and ends were fuller :(

ETA: myrrhmaiden, you always post a second before me :D i think it could be worn together with a white long dress and golden jewelry to a special event, or costume party! or a photoshoot :D

I think it's obvious -- next time I go out to a club with friends, to avoid unwanted attention. "Do you really want to risk annoying me?"

I bet if you did it a bit loose it wouldn't be bad. It's a neat way for long hairs to have a mohawk! SO neat!

Maybe you can wrap it with some sticks to keep it up. LOL idk?

I'm trying to imagine that on an actual warrior, like, in battle, and all I keep seeing is enemies having plenty of handles to choose from when grabbing her head to drag her down!

Yup. We think like warriors don't we?

However, I wouldn't fancy getting close enough to grab hold! I'm not too keen to try this out myself though.

Too cool!

I wish I could try it. My shorter strands in front would fudge it up. Unless I left them down... hmmm... :run:

This is just my personal opinion, but I think it would look even cooler with the end of the braid loose rather than looped like that... it would look kinda whip-like.

It would have to be for ceremonial warrior display only.

I've seen that before. I'll ask my Kari and see if she'll let me try it on her. What to use for thread? Hmmm...

I did Kari's hair in a similar fashion, but in upside down French braids. I'll do it again and continue it to make it look like the warrior.

She said it made her look like an alien...

This looks like a hair-friendlier way of doing a mowhawk. I couldn't pull it off, but I am sure the folks who can will look :rockerdud: in it.

I think that the thread/cord-wrapped ends would be very labor intensive to do. I know I'm too klutzy to manage it on my own (I'd need someone to do it for me) but I think for a rock concert, with the ends loose, rather than braided in together, it would be epic, especially if you are a head-banger. Think of it, head-bang to your heart's content with minimal/no knots/tangles to contend with afterward :rockerdud: :taz:

DakarNick, that rocks! Awesome mini braids, then braided into one big one! Awesome creativity!

@[B]myrrhmaiden, you wear it outdoors carrying a spear or a rifel! :D honestly it would be great for hiking/trail blazing. I know mowing would be excellent lol.

@Madame J, I bet a lot of people would actually come up to you and ask how you did that, or compliment you! :)

That is so awesome!! I imagine I'd have trouble looping and braiding in the final section, though. I tried that with a French braid once and it kept unraveling. :(

Thanks for sharing!!! The war paint kills. :D

I know this thread is 2 years old, but I just saw it.

AMAZING. I wish the Sens (Hockey team, check out their logo) were still in the playoffs... this would be ridiculously perfect for a game!!! Next year hopefully!!
