I am leaving the country for a year in a week. Since I decided my friends and family wont be around to french braid my hair (on the rare occasion that they are able to) I'd better learn how to do it myself. Much to my surprise after the first demonstration and attempt I came out with this!

I can do it! It's not that Bad! So can you!

Hey, your hair color is just like mine! I'm thinking you're more than a i. Maybe at least a i/ii? I insist you measure again.:)

Holy.. Oh wow. I still don't know how to french braid! I've always been clueless on how to do it on myself. (I haven't even tried it on anyone else, a doll but the hair is too shorttt!) Nice. I want to learnn! Hehe.

That's a very good first attempt. Mine were all over the place.
I learnt to do them on myself for exactly the same reason as you. Until then, I always got my mum to do them for me.

I know the theory behind french braiding, as in, how to do it, but I've never really managed to do it myself. Great job! What country are you going to?

Wow, that is fantastic for a first attempt! (for any attempt!) Great job!

I also agree with whoever said you don't look like a i!

Beautiful first try -- your fingers have skill :)

It worked out a little differently for me -- I learned how to french braid my own hair through experimentation, but still can't braid others' very well :o.

speakyword, that's one rock'n braid. Awesome smooth thick sections, and killer shine! The more you keep doing them, the easier and quicker they become.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, it's been a long time since I measured the thickness of my hair and it does seem a lot thicker than it used to be.

Thanks for the well-wishes on my trip. For those who asked I am going to Korea for a year to teach english

Your hair is very beautiful.

I insist you measure too. I did it today and it made my day. When I first came here I thought I had very little hair, that I was a i. But in fact I am a ii.
