Ok well, Hi !!
I know 4 months it's not a lot of time, but I have learned so much from this site, and not only about hair, trust me! Is great to know such a big supportive community :blossom:
Besides, I took like a million pictures yesterday, and I wanted to share!

NOW! let me see some pics! :cheese:

It all started as a pixie. I stopped all kinds of cutting 31 Dec 2008.
I was like this, I have no pics of the back, but it was all pretty much alike.

This is a comparison between my first back LHC-type pic I took when I joined the site, and one I took yesterday

January 2010

I have changed my routine from: daily wash with harsh shampoo, to twice a week, one CWC and the other, water only. I do have dry ends, as a result from double chemical dye, but I'm not trimming until my shortest layers grow past akward lenght! :run:

My first dutch braid! it is kind like a porcupine with all the layers poking out, but as it was my first, I just thought it was lovely and wore it with pride the whole day

My roots, looking like some kind of weird flower.. sloooowly growing

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=4045&pictureid=60916

And last.. a very old inspirational pic I found of myself.. I'm going for that lenght and more!

Wow! Your hair grew really fast. You are so lucky. Do you take any supplements to make your hair grow faster?

I am amazed how fast your hair grew!! Wow!! That's so cool that you did a Dutch braid (something I could never do, even when my hair was waist length)! :cheer:

I got a little lost. It looks like a pic is missing?? I'm still growing out a pixie - mine was as short as yours in the back, from what I can tell in your first pic. It was all but scalped. Was yours like that?

I just find it difficult to believe that you could braid your hair at almost APL length within a 4 mos period of growing out a super short pixie.

Not trying to be difficult...just seems we missed something in the timeline.:flower:

I'm in agreement with you. Something is missing. She said she stopped all cutting on Dec. 31st, 2008. From a pixie to current length is a year and 22 days.

You looked really cute with short hair too. I wish I could go back and forth like that. Anyway, you'll definately enjoy being a long hair as well. Your roots look nice and healthy.

It's hard to braid layers, so bravo!

Ahhh, I just got home and I couldn't read the answers early, thank you guys so much!!

about the pics timing: first pic, was about a year ago, a little more. I don't have pics between that and september-october (when I joined LHC) and my hair was already like the pic with the white shirt. (so, yes there are 10 months of progress pics missing!)

The pic where I am wearing the stripes shirt, is from two days ago.

About the braid: Ohh thank you all! In fact, braids are the reason I came across with LHC. I was somewhat obsessed with knitting and crocheting, and I had an epiphany and realize, that braiding is something like knitting with hair.. how cool is that?!

I also found that when my hair is greasy is really easier to braid.. otherwise ,the very much clean layers will slip they way out of the braid.

About the grow: you are making me blush! I don't take any hair supplement, but it really isn't that much, about a finger width a month. just an optical illusion! (but that's why I like to keep a length album, so I can look older pics and say "it's growing like grass!!") lol :)

You need 25 posts or more before you can see pictures hosted on LHC.

I didn't see the pictures yesterday but saw them today ... looks like great progress for your first year! :) I hope mine will be past shoulder length too at the end of my first year ... it looks like we have a similar starting length.

January 23rd, 2010, 01:49 PM
I see them now, too! Congrats, that is great news. Did you cut it from that long length to the pixie? The long inspirational pic is a good goal!

Lucky! I like the shape it's grown into from the pixie, too - cool layers.

Ok, I think I solved the picture thing, :cheese:

Hay22: Thanks! After all there is life after that mullet stage :D

DakarNick: No! it was.. gradually from that lenght to apl.. to shoulder to chin and pixie mad!

jaine: Good luck! just resist the urge to cut and if you don't like it, hide it in a pony stub for some weeks :)

I've grown my hair out from dead short as well, I love how quick it seems to grow cos there are lots of 'landmarks' from pixie to shoulder lol. When it gets down to about APL it seems to just take foreeeeever in comparison meh.

Anyway, your hair is coming along wonderfully, whatever you're doing seems to work :)
