Heya everybody, I've got a quick question. I'm a CO washer (for about a year) up untill about 2 months ago I unknowingly used a coney conditioner but after experiencing build up and doing some research I switched to cone free (I did a clarifying wash). About a month ago my head got really itchy and I got dandruff for the first time in about 10 years.

I know that cones coat the hair, my question is can they coat the scalp and disguse/control dandruff aswell? I'm only asking out of curiosity as the dandruff is already starting to clear up on its own because its been a month since it started.

Thanks :D

I highly doubt it. Dandruff is a naturally occurring condition where dead scalp skin cells mix with ones own natural sebum and flake of at an unusually high rate. Very rarely is it caused by hair products, but even if it was, I'd be more inclined to think that the new stuff you are using is causing the problem than the previous cone use.
